You're right, so I took a few pictures when I was doing my winch install this weekend. Thanks to GJRonK for the great write up, it made my life a lot easier. I took pics of a couple things that I thought might be helpful.

Here is a gallery of pictures. Some of them have descriptions, others are just to show how I did it. I still need to get some wire loom to run the cables through where they go through the firewall, I'll finish that up tomorrow.

Thanks for the photos. Someday I'll figure out how to post photos. I never have been able to get it right. It has been to make me a "Man of Words." :cus:

Posting the photos isn't too hard once you figure out how. Up at the top of the window where you type your message there are a bunch of icons. One of them is a smiley face, and just to the right of that there is another icon, I'm not sure what it is supposed to represent, but if you hold your mouse over it it will say "Attachments".

If you click on that icon it will bring up a new window where you can see the total amount of space you're using for storing attachments (at the top of the window), a section to upload attachments from your computer, and a section to upload from a URL. If your pictures are stored on your computer you can just click "Browse" next to one of the blank lines and find your picture, then click "Upload" at the bottom of the section.

If your picture is already stored on a website like Picasa, Flickr, Imgur, or some other image hosting service you can use the "Upload from a URL" option by typing the URL into the appropriate box and then clicking "Upload".

If you use the "Attachments" button, your picture shows up as a small thumbnail at the bottom of your post and people will have to click on it to see the larger version, like the little duck picture attached to this post. You also have a limited amount of space to store attachments, I think 10MB if you're not a paid subscriber, and attachments are limited to 1MB images, so you can only store about 10 or so.

If you use an image hosting service like those I mentioned above you can put the link right in your post by clicking on the "Insert image" icon below and to the right of the Attachments icon, and then typing in the URL for the webpage where your image is hosted. This shows your image inline in the post like this:

Thanks again for your great writeup!

These instructions were great for someone like me who has no experience with any of this stuff - Thanks. Question what is the best thing to use to cut a hole in the original plastic cover?

For where the cable came out the front, I first made a template of cardboard, then traced the opening onto the plastic, then used a small sabre saw to cut the plastic. Better to cut too small, then cut some more.

As of March, 2021, these instructions have been viewed over 40K times! Apparently it was worth my time to write them up.

Now if I could only get everybody that used them to send me a nickel...
