Is it hitting the rev limiter?

If not what are the RPM's at the top speed?

Having a similar problem on my '16. Made my own post but figured I'd follow this one as well. I'll post here if I find a fix.
It it hitting the rev limiter?
It gets up to about ~8300 and then immediately drops to ~7500 and sits there. Mine will not go faster than 55-60. It seems that the last 25% of the gas pedal does nothing. I then floored it and it went into limp mode with 65590, 65591, and 65592 codes coming up.

mine feels like it has a governor for some reason as soon as I hit 60 it just revs out at 8900 rpms I took the air compressor to the clutch and cleaned them my bike just hit 50hr. I’m just pull clutch apart you think it will hurt to riding like it is know???

Mine had this problem. I kept throwing belts at it with no avail. Finally I discovered that the clutch alignment was way out of spec ( primary and secondary was too close) . Would be a good idea to pick up Todd’s new affordable clutch alignment tool at HunterWorks to check that as well.

I have not. Purchased a clutch kit from Hunterworks hoping it would remedy the problem to no avail. Meant to get around to calling Todd about it but haven't had the chance.
A kit will not fix a clutch issue, I am sure we didn't talk and me tell you to buy a kit to fix it.

The issue is probably in the primary clutch, spider backed off, nut backed off or bad rollers

I have a 2021 1000xp. Went riding and it wouldn’t do over 58mph downhill. Rpm’s were at 8500. came home as soon as I hit the driveway and hit the brakes it died. Took cover off and the belt was stuck down in the secondary clutch. Put a beans new belt thinking mine was just too narrow and srill won’t go over 58 and it’s really hard to ge run and out of gear I have to shut it off and take out of gear. Any advice appreciated

My dads 2017 xp1000 has done this twice. Both times at around 900mi on the clutch. The primary clutch was stuck closed. The first one I was able to save the sheaves, spider and the spring. I caught the second one before it ate itself up. It just needed weights pins and rollers.

My 2020rs1 did this at 3100mi because the spyder cracked and let the weights over travel. Replaced the entire clutch because the balanced rotating mass was damaged.

Yours is dying when you hit the brakes because the primary clutch is not fully opening up when the engine comes to idle rpm. This is usually caused by worn / stuck weights or something stuck between the bushing and the bearing in the outer primary sheave.

Yours primary clutch will need a major rebuild or full replacement.
