Nothing like re hashing a thread from 2008!:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

always wondered the same thing. i dont want a parking brake, i just watch where i stop. i do want a true e-brake though. if you get a hole in a brake line or rip one off you are screwed. the reservoir doesnt look like a dual setup either. i looked at getting a caliper for the rear that would have a manual lever on it but couldnt find anything that would work.

LOL.. old thread alert!

They put E brakes on the international models...
but think about it.. if they save $100 per machine, and sell 10,000 machines,,, that is $1million savings in the bank.. and they sell more than 10,000 of these things...

Yeah but that's true with almost anything. I mean just think if they left the passenger seat out and the headlights how much they could save..

Where we ride most of the time you can't park on level ground. Even more so if the guy infront of you gets stuck or lays it over on his side.. Not like you can back down the mountain to park and run back up to him lol.. It also makes me nervous that they have a single master cylinder and no ebrake. One failure anywhere in the system and you have no brakes period.. Again depends on where you ride.. We ride in mountains. Not hills, Mountains with crosses on the sides of the trails in certain spots..

Someone like Polaris could probably get them a lot cheaper too, since they would need so many. They could raise the price enough to cover it and nobody would complain.

Atv has them good to use seems like a cheap fix. One guy spent 5 dollars making his.
Guess the next 1000 will be $21005 and will include the brakes..lol

Most everyone around here has an aftermarket parking brake.. What most don't understand is this is not the same as a E brake like the parking brake in your truck.. If you have brake failure in any part of the system your are screwed.. A true parking brake uses a separate cable from the rest of the system. So if both master cylinders fail or in the case of a RZR if the one fails you have a fail safe. Just locking the brake pedal down does save the transmission in a RZR but it doesn't really fix the problem.. Pretty much is just a band aid. It does atleast let you get it out of park with out your buddy having to bump in the back of you or you having to hook up your winch to get it out of park though :(
