So I'm not sure whether to get the Excel seats or the Vortex for my '11 RZR. What are your thoughts on the two seats?....pros and cons. Vortex seem a bit wide, but the Excel seems tight. I have a 36" waist.

Does anybody own the TS Excel seats? I'd think they'd be pretty popular, but not a single one listed on the poll post about seats. Anybody....
I rode all weekend in Glamis with my Excels , loved them , they seamed a little tight on first impression. After the first ride i never had that thought again. having the sides at the hight they are at, really made me feel convertible like i wasn't going any where. the head rest area is nice as well.( nice and wide) I had them sew in the submarine belt holder, which was free to do , that makes it real nice so you don't have to search for it down by your feet. and it is super easy to check the oil now , no more feeding the belts threw the little slits in the other style seats ,these seats alow you to just pull the belts threw and out come the seats. lol these are the next generations of seats , they look awesome and have a must have function for aggressive riding, they are a Race style inspired seat, they keep you in place. I got a great deal on them too. the thing to keep in mind it that they say these seats are design to fit a waist of 38" or below.

That was my impression on the Excels as well when I sat in one. I also chose these seats for the same reasons you did, to include the sub belt holder. I'm just waiting for mine to come in now.

EDIT: just found out that they are in and waiting for me to pick them up from UTV Inc. :)

I don't know Gary. Might do it if you can unbolt that Aerocharger and send that north for a bit. You run the seats and I'll trade you the turbo. Sound fair?...PM me.

Scott, Patiently waiting for your review when you get them installed. Let us know...and would like to see some pics.

I'll definitely post my thoughts on them once I have them. As for pics, no problem, however I had my seats made the same as Franks(FJK) so I'd imagine there would be little to no difference except that I had a Sub belt strap added on mine.

Nice review.....Thank you. They do look awesome and I really like the headrests and big belt slots. I just hope they're not too tight and restrictive. I have a 34"-35" waist, so shouldn't be an issue. I hope.... What about the suspension aspect. Do they help to absorb trail impact from roots and rocks? Is the suspension really helpful...

Might get a basic color so I can paint my machine later down the road when I'm sick of the orange and black.

Hey Steve...So are your Excel's leaning back really far? I've spoken to TS and they said they'll build them more layed back (regurlar) or more upright (Rhino like). Did you specify the lean?

I bet the tightness was due to the fact that they were brand new and need some hours of seat time to break-in a bit.

One other thing...how is the total width of the two seats in the machine; are they popping out the sides of the RZR, or do they look/feel nicely matched for your machine?

Just about to pull the trigger on a pair.

Jim, I just got a set of Excels and will be posting a full review of them. The seats don't lean back that much but they are not as straight as the stock seats. I would caution you against getting more lean added to the seat as they sit closer to the steering wheel than stock as it is. Increasing the lean could potentially limit how far back you can adjust the seat base to get a comfortable distance from the steering wheel. As it is, I feel the seats sit closer to the dash and because of the high sides, I have to pull myself forward and up and then rotate out to exit the vehicle. I have removed the bars that are stock on the side of the door frame that typically hold the nets and the Excel seats leave a narrow space to rotate your legs out of the vehicle. If you are tall, leaning the seat back more could make it impossible for you to adjust it to a comfortable position. I have photos of all of this that I will post with my review so that you have an idea of what I am describing.

Just an FYI that I realized tonight--

If you live in a cold climate, and are looking at aftermarket seats, consider how "thick" you are when wearing winter gear and riding. I tried to get into my TS Pro's wearing Carhartt Extreme coveralls, and I felt like the Rzr was giving birth to me. Not sure what I'll do ... :)

I have the first set of Excel seats that Twisted Stitch made so I probably have as much seat time and experience with these seats as anybody. Although they are for my rhino, this should be consistent with the RZR seats too.
I had my seats done in flat black/ostrich/carbon fiber. I have a ruptured s1 disk in my lower back so I had TS put an extra lumbar support pad in my seat as well as the 5th point slot. I am 5'10" , 195 lbs and have a 36" waist. So I think you'll be o.k. as far as having enough leg room.
I absolutely love the seats as far as comfort and looks are concerned. They do hold your legs in really good, so I find myself dropping in to the seat and pulling myself out using my rollbar instead of just sliding in and out like in more open seats like the vortex. The belt slots are good for removing the seats easily. The padding and support is really good as well as the fit and finish, and overall it's the best seat for a utv to date.IMHO.

Good info Roof. Hummm, need to consider that living in ME. I just don't know, maybe the Vortex is the way to go for that very reason. I ride in the winter. I love the idea of the Excel though. Sweet lookin' seat. Gotta think more practical though.

Thank you Erik. We ride hard, but then stop and shot-the-chit, the move, then stop, etc., but when riding we're going fast on trails, but not fast like western desert fast. I don't hit whoops at 60mph and fly over sand berms..It's more fast over rock and log strew trails and fields. Ever ridden the Vorex? How does that hold you in?
