Which RZR XP do I want?

I am finally ready to purchase my first RZR (and my first ever SxS), once I know which model would be the best fit for me. I have had Yamaha Grizzly 4 wheelers and Jeep Rubicons, so I am looking for something to replace all of them.

I will spend a majority of my riding time in the mountains - trails, logging roads, rock climbing, anywhere that Jeeps go, etc., but will also look forward to being able to make trips to other places further away - from Moab to Lake Havasu desert area, to whatever popular destination places people like to go explore in the Pacific Northwest. I also look forward to doing some 4-wheeling in the snow.

I plan to run at least 32" tires or taller for ground clearance.

My understanding is that Polaris made some significant changes in 2021, so I should be looking at 2021 and newer?

I obviously want to get the best deal that I can, but am willing to spend extra money on things that make a big difference (like the Ride Command).

I will probably get a 2 seater to be able to get around better back in the mountains.

I want something wider than the Trail model, but not too wide, so maybe a 64" wide model?

From what I've read, it looks like I should be looking at an XP?

What model should I get? Thanks.

You should get a 4 seat. No penalty in performance or maneuverability. Smoother ride. Biggest thing for you is more cargo space.

I agree with Kane, only thing is if you like to wrench and/or if issues arise with the front end..alignment or shock issues your at the mercy of dealer timelines and their proprietary software which could lead to further expense and downtime.
The reason I avoided the Dynamix models.
Depending if your looking for New or Used.
Some primary clutching problems with the new primary - and I have seen some really good pricing on low miles RXR XP'S lately- but then again all used need to be looked over carefully.
A lot of additions on used can save you money, But then again it's all what your pocket book can stand.- There are some software issues as Med0gre has stated, and I would search and read up on the ride command- a lot better options out there that kept me away from it.
Id go Turbo R, and I would have if it would have been out at the time I bought mine.
You'll be wide, comes with 32's and can go to 35's easily. I'm 75" wide on portals and the Turbo R's go everywhere width wise I go and you get bigger shocks.
You'll love the added width in the desert and climbing.
Ride command isn't all that great. A standalone GPS unit is much better in my opinion.

You didn’t mention a budget. I’ve seen some really good looking deals on 2-3 year old 1000xp lately. And they’re pretty reliable machines, old enough platform that everything is known about them, lots of aftermarket, and lots of people know how to work on them. But if you don’t mind spending some money, Turbo R is great. Heavier drivetrain and suspension than the XP or turbos. 32s are stock, 37s bolt on. I think they’ve got a reputation as reliable so far.

Of all the problems Polaris has had though, dynamix hasn’t been one of them.

If you plan to put it in a toyhauler think about size and weight of sxs and size and payload capacity of toyhauler. We have a 2021 pro xp ultimate with ride command and a lot of added goodies and absolutely love it.

So not sure about pricing in your area but I have seen a few of the 2022 RZR Pro XP Ultimate models (brand new) selling for $27-28k around here.
Here in Socal, there's a lot of places to rent one for a day.
Good way to test different models.
I went with the Pro XP because some of PA's state trials limit the machines to 64" width and under 1800lbs dry weight. Check to see if there is any restrictions where you want to ride.

Wow that's a great price! They are running $31,000-$32,000 in our area.
Just picked up a new Pro xp today!!
