I have 2500 mi. on my 08 with the original belt

 

I would change it now in the comfort of your garage and break it in properly. Then keep your original as a spare.

 

X 2... Great advice... I have over 5000 miles on my original belt and will run it until it breaks so I can see how far it will last...

I have 925 miles on my Std 2011. I changed the belt and it looked and measured as almost new.

The reason I changed it is I was heading to CO for a week way in the boonies and didn't want to worry about it. If I had been staying close to home and around dealers i would have kept on running it.

Now I know what to expect my belt to look like after 900 miles and have a spare. This one I will run twice as long and look again.

 

After you change it a couple of times it is ez to do and always keep a spare and the tools you need with you . Not much worry about at all.

I had 1200 on mine and I was in the middle of the dunes when it started chunking and coming out of my snorkels onto the bed. I drove back at 5mph luckily I made it.

 

That's why I carry a spare belt and the tools to replace my belt when it goes

 

Mine just shredded at 770 miles.

 

I have 2400 miles on mine. I carry a spare belt with me. My advice is, why screw with it if it's not broke.
