Wheel reversal, is it safe?

Picking up a spare set of steel Polaris wheels. Plan is for winter use and putting somthing agressive on for snow. I was planning to just reverse them to avoid spacers. I have read some mixed commentary about how safe it is. Im not certain what the differece would be between switching them or an offset. Will it be harder on the RZR hubs?

It's the way the rims are made...their is a lip for the lug nuts and when you flip it's putting most of the contact with that plus now their isn't a lip for the lugs...don't forget you need to remove the valve stem and insert it backwards so it won't hit the caliper and drill a new hole. For a new stem on other side."

When I turned mine around for TT racing I just inserted a washer on each lug nut before I put the rim on. It took up the space from the turn out for each lug and allowed the rest of the rim to sit against the hub. Now I did use 4 rear wheels turned around and I did have 1 1/2 spacers on, so I did not have to remove the stems.

I would not however suggest jumping with this type of set up. not sure how much pressure it puts on the hubs, bearings, etc.

Plains, I run reversed in the rear with my Paddles on the sand with 2" spacers. I would hestitate to do this setup with normal tires which weigh more on the trails where there is more shock. Remember, the the steel wheel torque is only 27#s
