Hey I've been looking around the site and no luck finding this yet...

What tools do you carry with you in your RZR when you're out riding?

Hopefully if this is a good topic, we can get a sticky on it. Post away!!!

I will start....

Co2 kit
Med size slime comp.
Machete / saw
Tow strap short and long
The tool kits that. Come stock
Jump starter...I have not needed it but have used it to jump others off.

I am sure I carry more will have to look and see what else I carry.

I have a growing tool kit I leave at camp as well. Since we normally have several machines one can always run back to get tools.

Compact hi-capacity air compressor, misc. hand tools, most commonly used sockets for a Razr, duct tape, ties, electrical connector kit/tester, small bottle jack, tire plug kit, spare tire rear cage with spare tire, SPOT Locator, first aid kit, machete, combat knife, winch, LED flaslight, one MRE, small length of 14 gauge wire, electrical tape, fire extinguisher, gloves, wire cutters, ratchet tie down, laser pen, pipe clamps, and some other little things.
Knowing to how to pack and locate what you have is worth the time it takes to find how to get everything into the space you have.
I have learned from others I ride with and from those on this Forum what is best for the type of riding i do. Oh yeah, also have a Rugged VHF Mobile Radio and handheld radio.

Things i carry are not only for me but if something happens when I am riding with others.

Other variables determine what and when you carry with you. Just my two cents.

Not near enough.
Enough tools to change a drive belt,
Drive belt
Green Slime compressor kit.
Tire Plug kit
CO2 tire inflator
20 ft tow strap with assorted celvises and biners
Looking for a small socket set to carry along.
Shortie wrenches
Leatherman
Ty-raps
Elecrical tape
Duct tape if I can keep the boys from taking it.
Oh, and a knife. never know when a bear might attack.

I need to build one......could have used one of those small collapsible shovels this weekend when we were trying to get a stuck jeep out.

I'm in this process too of building a tool kit. It seems like a person can go over board real quick! I see if you ride the dunes you really don't need a big tool kit because your truck is kinda close but the guys who ride the mountains would need to be better prepared. I ride both so........... I need to figure something out.

Being an old guy, I probably go overboard when we (wife) go into the mountains or desert. We dont always have someone to ride with so in addition to tools, I have an small emergency bag that has survival items for a couple of days, such as meds, backpacker food/stove, fire starter, hatchet, painter drop plastic covers, small rope, poncho's portable CB, flashlights, etc. The tools are in a small tool box and contain the standard items that will fit the RZR plus any unique tool plus small air compressor, wire, tow strap, jack..If we're riding close to home or with others, I leave most of that stuff at camp...

I rarely go more than a few miles from my truck and generally have someone to tow me back if something happens. I carry a full tool kit in my truck.

On the RZR I carry a tow strap with a couple shackles, the standard issue Polaris tool bag, and since I have had a few bead issues with my tires I will be carrying a long (12') ratchet strap and a 12oz CO2 tire inflator. It has an adjustable 0-280psi regulator so it can be used to air up tires (and reseat the bead) or for an impact wrench. I keep an extra 20oz tank in the truck.

This come directly from ATVTV.com. They have 4 different videos on their site that I found very informative. This is the list from their site. It's a lil extreme, but you can pick and choose the things that you may need for each different ride that you take.

- Be sure to carry additional methods for securing it to the ATV

Water Pack or container(s) for drinking water

Proper Waterproof boxes or bags for ATV
- Make sure all boxes are fastened on securely (take something along to re-attach if needed)

- Get heavy-duty trash bags for inside for added waterproofing.

Hi all, a newbie, treat me with tender. :)
Got amazing information for the tool kit, especially, budman8's list is the WOW!
Just wonder that, if you have to take all things in the long list, doesn't it weight too much, and take room too much? I'd rather make everything ready by checking the great list, and actually take only the necessary ones with.

If it doesn't fit under the hood or under the pass side seat (rzr4) I don't take it. Under the hood I have a 20' strap, Air compressor, about 100 tire plugs, Spanner wrench, the Polaris tool kit with a 3/8 drive ratchet with a few sockets, small spool of wire, crimpers, wire ends, pushpins. Under the pass side seat I have 2 more straps, a small bottle jack and I normally carry my electric Impact with a few sockets as well. I have a small Warn accessory bag that hangs on the grab bar behind the front seats that has 2 snatch blocks, 4 d-rings, and 2 small straps. In my glove compartment I keep a waterproof case for my phone/wallet and any other important things that can not get wet. I do keep some spare AA battery's for the GPS in case I loose power to my GPS dock and had to walk out and the battery pack went dead for some reason. I used the air compressor and tons of plugs back when I had the craptastic stock ITP tires. There are literally 24-26 plugs between all 4 tires. I haven't had any problems with my current Swamper Swamp Lites. Oh and a 24 can AO Softcooler that is normally over filled with cold beer, Gatorade and water. Also a small waterproof bag with a few snack's.
