I am wondering what all you guys would like for Polaris to improve on these machines if we could get their attention. I know some of us ride harder than others so lets get a mix of all opinions. I dont want to bash them this thing is of my favorite toys, but for the price we pay they can do better. I will start, I prob ride mine a little extreme so I will not include things I know that are my fault.
My unit is a 2011 RZR S

1. A-arm bushings are junk! 3 sets on the front 1400 miles
2. The fan circut breaker location is a bad idea!
3. Wheel bearings are not very good, repaced all 800 miles
4. Two rear axels in 900 miles

Axels, fit and finish and stouter frame. The bushings are a good idea to. Squeaks and rattles. The clutching could work better. Other than that there isn't much else you could do to them in my opinion. You get a lot from these things than any other manufacturer.

non bashing here and love mine too but......many areas could use improvement

1) many areas aren't even a cost increase, just better thinking and design. This Chinese I.C. doesn't really cost any more than the lame one we have.

2) Also ordering options: I can order an automobile any color and optioned the way I want it. why can't I have my choice of (8) RZR colors? (If you want to argue that one with me I'd be happy to implement that program)

3) graphic kits available from the dealer THAT MATCH COLOR!!!

4) switch knock outs on dash

5) a couple of aux. power connections for basic stuff, off road lights, winch (harnesses are already on the machine)

I'm stopping at (5)

A mudder edition would be nice. With differentials that can handle the abuse of big tires and clutch kits. I know all that can be purchased aftermarket but to see a machine with 18-20" of clearance, 28"+ tires, snorkled and beefed up components from factory would be a great addition. My sprague in front diff broke my 1st or 2nd time out. It was 100% stick at the time and wasn't riding too hard.

X2 on the A-arm tabs. Mine were wallared out bad. I had to drill them out and weld in racer tech step washers....hopfully it will fix the problem.

I would like to see a true stop on the carrier to help prevent breaking cv joints. Sometimes it happens so fast, you cain't control the over steer.

I don't see a problem with the sprague gear, I have over 1400 miles on mine and launch the front over stuff all the time in 4wd, let off the throttle for a split second while the tires hit the ground and you're golden.

I'm guessing people that "aren't Riding hard" are holding it to the floor web their 30" tires hit the ground.

Dash is from a z-6 chinese rzr/rhino clone

E brake would be nice

a better airbox / filtering mechanism

a lighting system for the cab, nothing big just illuminated switches or a dome light.

^ agreed after you take it apart a few times it could be an issue with stripped out metal, there are alot of the foldover clips on these machines, wouldn't hurt to add a few more in areas of high use.

fancy gages was seen at dealer expo, Indy '11. My hand held lawn sprinkler controller has almost as good a screen. Better than my RZR.

) nicer steering wheel. why offer the $100 slightly nicer one that isn't all that nice when it could have been on there to begin with. Or at least offer a $300 one that IS nice and I will gladly give my dealer $300 cause I know it fits.

... My hand held lawn sprinkler controller has almost as good a screen. Better than my RZR.....
I got a pm overnight accusing me of complaining and not liking my RZR and must have thought the "irrigation controller" was a crummy joke. No, it was positive input meant in a good way and my unit was custom programmed for my property (7) years ago. My first design job was with that Peoria company and I am familiar with their electronics department. A Bradley Univ. intern worked on that. Not even out of college yet.

Keeping it fun, I can sit in a lawn chair and fill my frog pond with one zone or try to nail the cat walking around the yard.

I like others just want good things for my RZR and will watch how I post in the future guys, thanks.

E Brake: 3/4 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe cut to 13 1/2 inches over all length. notch out a grove 1/2 inch deep by 3/8 wide at the bottom end. this fits on the brake pedal arm the flat end goes towards the mounting bracket at the top. Push down on the the brake pedal and wedge in the PVC pipe and let off. The PVC pipe keeps pressure on the brake pedal and your set. I installed a couple of pieces of Velcro to my roll bar and and to the piece of PVC works great. I make my own improvements it gives me things to do.

Prewired for winch and lights
prewired for a second battery
better headlights
better design on the air filter system
heavy duty axles
heavy duty frame
turn signals already installed
back up lights
better transmission
parking brake
better front and rear diffs something like you have on a pick-up truck with ring and pinion gears instead of the cage
these are just a few thing i would like to see

They made the most capable SxS no doubt but cheaped out on things that would've put it over the top for years to come.

1. Bushings
2. Belly Pan should've been metal
3. Axles
4. Bearings
5. Air Intake design is terrible

Rhinos are slow and loud but you never had to worry about getting pulled back to the truck.

1. ProStar 800 engine with 65 HP That will fix the air box issue for good and improve drivability, engine breaking, and clutching.
2. 4 or 5 point seatbelts standard because they need it.
3. Grease zerks in all the places needed like CV JOINTS! END the squeaky RZRs!!
4. Upgrade shocks to 2.5 inch bodies and PUT ON GOOD SPRINGS that wont sag before a year is up.
5. Design in things like extra switch knock outs and vents for heaters on the dash. Make a good electrical tie in point for accessories for both keyed on and always hot.
6. Upgrade the tranny, differentials, axles, and CVs for lifts and bigger tires so some of us can get a few extra inches of ground clearance without fear of breakage, its not just the mud guys who could stand a little more clearance.
7. MAKE A DAMN BUMPER THAT DOESNT GO THROUGH THE RADIATOR AS SOON AS YOU HIT SOMETHING.
8. Make a hard cab for the RZR 4!
9. Give us rebound adjustments on Fox shocks so we can combat the hard bucking it does over bumps.
10. LOWER THE PRICE OF THE XP 4. Its not worth $3,700 more from 800 LE to 900 LE. Stop gouging us.

I can think of more but this seems like a pretty good start.
