What about a small inline four turbo diesel? They are compact, simple and should have a lot of torque.

a line has to be drawn someplace...if that much power is needed go a 2 seat hyabusa buggy or sand car... their is limits to what can be done with a rzr...a 2 seater hyabusa buggy is only about 14 k and alot faster at some point you cant have it all and need to decide what you want..a rock crawler...sand car..mud bogger..desart car... and go from their.

Yea that would be a crazy engine. The torque of that engine is linear from the start all the way thru the RPM range. Add Nitrous and you get 250HP. Talk about a screamer... Thou I think it's too high to fit...

There are a couple vtwin bike engine swaps out there.
Honda RC51 I think???

Sled engines like the Weber and Apex are a good choice if you want to keep the CVT.

I have seen a few RZRBusa builds announced and started,,, but haven't seen any info of one being finished and running...???

Besides adding a Turbo or Apex or R1. Has anybody ever shoe-horned in a small V-8 or something? Just looking to see what would work or who has made something different to work....
I'm looking into an ARCTIC CAT Z-1 (SUZUKI) TURBO engine for a RZR swap. Comes in 2009 and Newer A/C Z-1 Turbo snowmobiles

It's only 2 cylinders, (NO frame stretch req'd) 1056 cc 4-stroke, liquid cooled, closed loop, with a factory Turbo, and a tapered crankshaft that will accommodate a ARCTIC CAT CVT clutch.

180 h.p.. STOCK,

E-Z 275 H.P. with a computer re-flash by Turbo-Dynamics, ON 91 OCTANE!!

315 H.P. with their water-methanol injection and a different re-flash

All DYNO #'s were just completed by DYNOTECH Jim, in New York this past week.
Back in the early 80's, I put a Big-Block Dodge into a short wheel base (91"-92") '72 Dodge Colt, it ran 9.40's @ 137+ M.P.H.

I thought that I read that they are having major problems with this engine right now... I could be wrong...

Either way, that would be one crazy engine to run in the RZR.

I was told that the Z1 is just as wide as the APEX. I had thought it would be good to use too. But, got shot down on that. I do not have one to measure.

Pix are on nelsonsspeedshop.com Parts fiche on line

Mounting is also more conventional, 2 studs straight down in the rear plus bracket up front

Siamese twin, not even close to the 4 cylinder APEX

I'm trying to upload a pic of that schematic, not having any luck, any ideas?

I have it copied as a "word" doc

Not true,

Check out hcs.com (HARDCORESLEDDER)

I've spoken to a few shops already on the reliability aspect and there are no issues.

If I'm going to go through the trouble of doing a swap, it seems to be a possible alternative to the WEBER.

It's a factory big bore version of a WEBER, at 1056 cc vs. 750cc. 180 h.p. vs. 130 h.p. STOCK vs stock

I've said this a few times. Its hard to understand why people spend 30K-40k on a RZR for playing in the sand.. Seems like they would just be better off with a sand car.

That said I'm all for watching people blow their money! Why not a freaking Jet Turbine!
