I have a 2016 RZR 570. What oil and drive fluids can I use to replace the Polaris stuff.
Recommendations?

^^ lol. I do not have a 570 but I do have a 2015 900 4 and I run Amsoil in mine and have had no issues. The front diff even got a LITTLE quieter lol. Engine, trans, diffs, you name it, I run Amsoil.

Thanks
Thom

Rotella T-6 for the engine A good full synthetic 5W-20 motor oil in the trans and any full synthetic ATF for the front differential Been using these alternatives for years. Work perfectly T-6 actually quiets the 570 down some. T-6 is a diesel formulation and has great wear and detergent packages

Rotella T6 all the way!
I agree with all of the above.

And to all those that think the 570 is just a toy.....Open invitation to come out to my cottage and play follow the leader.
50 inch wide trails. Don't worry, i'll stop and wait for you at the intersections.

75-90 is also too thick for the front differential The front differential fluid from Polaris is thin like water so I have no idea why you'd put that in your front differential. Quote:Motor oil wears out to fast This is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard Full synthetic 5w-20 will easily run without breaking down for the duration of your maintenance cycle in the trans in a Polaris, Motor oils don't WEAR they eventually break down but only after countless hours of use, and if you follow Polaris recommendations for maintenance you will never reach the oils limit. I have a friend who has put over 20,000 miles on two Polaris machines using the alternatives I have listed and has sent the oil in to Blackstone Labs numerous times for analysis and the oil has always come back with a report as good as or better than the overpriced Polaris fluids. I have also used these alternatives without any problems on three different Polaris vehicles

GoGo Gadget Id really be interested where you saw 75-90 as the recommended fluid anywhere on a 570 rzr

Like I said earlier someone got wrong information. Nowhere will you ever find a 75-90 weight oil anywhere on a 570 of any kind 75-90 has a viscosity much thicker than the AGL that Polaris recommends. Anyone that has ever drained a trans would know that the AGL supplied by Polaris is much thinner than 75-90 gear lube. Years ago Polaris actually used a 30 weight oil in their trans but since they have started to market their own rebranded fluids they now call it AGL and it has the thickness of 5w-20 motor oil. You guys that are using 75-90 its my hope that it worked for you but it is a far cry from what came in your trans when Polaris made the machine. Not trying to start a pissing match but I believe it would benefit your machines to get a fluid in your trans that is at least similar to the AGL that came in it. Good luck to all

Gentlemen, thanks the debate and information. I changed out all of the break in fluids at 600 miles and replaced with the following fluids.

1. motor- Mobile 1 synthetic 0-40
2. Tranny- synthetic motor oil 5-20
3. Front differential- Vavoline synthetic ATF

Now answer this question: At what mileage would you do the next fluid changes.

First eddie You waited way too long to do your first service. It should have been done before or around 25 hours. You don't do maintenance on these machines by miles. I overkill my fluids and change them all every 25 hours, so I'd suggest you check your hours and change your fluids in another 50 hours or less. The average trail rider averages between 6-8 mph so 50 hours would be around 300-400 miles. If used in a nasty environment I'd suggest earlier changes

For normal rides I think there is a schedule inside your manual. I threw mine in the back of my tool box, because I bought it for the mud and water. I do a lot of deep mud and water play, so my schedules are really short and checking before every ride, even sometimes during the ride I may pull my oil stick. I really abuse my machine, with the mud and water, but if the 570 is sealed tight it's like a baby tank.

What's the deal with the straps?[/QUOTE]

Trees/Brush deflectors. Instead of a limb loading up on the roll bar and releasing, the straps help push the limbs up and out of the way. Jeeps use this trick but with wire.

I may have to start using this trick!

On another note, why the hate on the polaris fluids? I change all my fluids once a season and have not had any issues with the polaris stuff, it's all fully synthetic. The motor oil is a little pricey compared to Mobil 1 or some other options but not that bad and the tranny and front axle oils have all the approriate friction modifiers in them. I order all my stuff from Rocky Mountain atv. Now if you are buying from the stealership, forget about it! They bend you over the counter there.

I researched this and didn't find anything definitive on what the compatible fluids are. I just bought polaris fluids online and was done with it. The demand drive (front) uses very little so 1 bottle goes a long way and there are reports of noises with the wrong fluids. The AGL for the tranny is $15 and a good synthetic is like $11....why risk screwing something up over $4!

Engine oil is engine oil...pick whatever you think is best.

You're missing the point. A Polaris oil change kit is over 30 dollars and I can do 2 changes with a gallon of rotella t-6 for 22 dollars plus two aftermarket filters for 3-5 dollars each from Wal Mart, so you can do twice the changes for the same basic price as one Polaris kit. 5W-20 full synthetic oil cost between 5-7 dollars a quart....not 11 dollars so the trans savings is also substantial, especially since one quart wont quite fill the trans so you would be paying 30 dollars for agl for one change, The demand drive is a fluid I would use since you only use 6-9 ounces and a quart will get you 4 changes but full synthetic atf still works just as good. No noises ever since Ive been using full synthetic atf in the diff

I perform services regularly for customers as well as my own equipment and have used the Maxima ATV and SXS specific oils and they are great. Great prices compared to some of the expensive stuff. They have a full synthetic 0-40 and 5-50 which is the same as the PS4. They have the SXS trans and gear oil which is less than half of the AGL. They even have an application chart on their website.

Regarding the 75 90 for the transmission. I read somewhere that those of us who ride slow trails most of the time might benefit from it because the thinner oil that Polaris uses which seems to be around the same viscosity as motor oil is meant to splash or fling at higher speeds to do it's job, but at lower speeds the thicker lube clings and "crawls" and should theoretically do a better job at slow speeds. I ride slow tight trails and use 5w 20 but the 75 90 theory is enticing.

Personally I'm going to try to stick with something near the viscosity of what the Polaris engineers came up with. I've never heard of your slow trail fast trail theory but I figure if the engineers wanted something that thick in the machine they would have put it there, or at least said that 75-90 is an approved fluid for the trans and front diff under different circumstances. 75-90 may runs for years with no problems but I sure don't want to have it in my machine and have it break and try to explain to Polaris why they should cover the repairs under warranty, even though I have something completely different and a completely different viscosity fluid in the machine. Both the trans and front diff in our RZRs come from the factory with fluids that are nearly as thin as water, and personally I'm going to keep my fluids along those lines
