There is a lot of misinformation in this thread....

Glad to see Filthyredneck corrected the double chain myth. Its stronger but still not by much. Polaris is still limiting the power to ~30% in reverse to keep people from breaking chains.

2017 was a weird year because Polaris in the fall of 2017 started to produce Highlighters with the larger Turbo Front Diff and Larger Front Axles. The 2017.5+ Highlifter's are the best of the bunch in terms of getting the most bang for your buck. 2018 being the best model year they released. 2015-2016 HL's were pretty much a RZR 1K XP with some bolt-on's and a light gear reduction in low.

I have a 2017 model HLE, how would I know if it was first or last half of production?

All 2017's should have received these upgrades but someone had commented their 2017 HLE didn't have the Turbo front diff.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I was looking at the schematics xp1k vs HL in terms of engine and trans, and they are the exact same for 2020 at least. Someone told me in the past the high lifters were geared differently and then I ran across this thread, but I don't even see any type of gear reduction in the schematics like someone previously mentioned.
