I was wondering what type of trailer everyone uses. I have a 6 X 12 enclosed that I use when I go for the weekend, but I'm thinking about getting an open trailer (small and light) just for my day trips. Curious to see what the smallest size is being used?

It use to be a old 5th wheel camper i got for free . Ended up gutting it down to the frame flopping the axels. Then widen'd it to 102" thats the law here as wide as you can go . Then made the top into a deck to haul stuff . Had to get a goose neck to 5th wheel adaptor worked good though since i have a shortbed :rm_thumbdown::rofl3:

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a 7x16 enclosed trailer and sticking a full bath in the front sort of like a home made toy hauler. Few holding tanks, hotwater heater some fold down beds on the sides and a roof AC and your done. I've been keeping an eye out for a good used trailer. I figured it would be sort of dual purpose.. Small enough for short trips but be a large step up from a tent on camping trips. The bathroom would only take up the first 4 foot, So I'd still have a 12' Cargo trailer when needed.

You might want to research the 18' Work and Play cargo trailer .. Sounds like what you are lookin for.

I have a 77" wide by 10' long trailer for mine .........

I've looked at the work and play toy haulers. Thing is those are quite a bit more then what I'm talking about. I can get a good used cargo trailer for around 3500 or less. I could have bought a interstate brand a week ago for 3200. Great trailer but was a V nose and wont work for my use if I want LP gas on the front. I can do the other stuff for around 2 grand.. So your talking 5500 and your done. Our tent and air matress sleeps great. My main want/need is a bathroom lol. It also would be nice to be able to turn on a AC and fire up a microwave it you wanted.
