There have been posts asking "What do you carry with you". Well, since I had everything out of mine, I took the time to take pics and put together descriptions of what I carry with me on every ride.

To start with, here's a pic of the back of my RZR.

On the left is my Air Cleaner, move up to the bed last winter. In the center is a Polaris Lock-N-Ride box. On the right is a Holz Racing gas can that fits the Polaris gas can rack. FYI, I set the gas can on a micro-fiber towel folded in four.

OK, starting with the Lock-N-Ride box

A starting point, the tan bags are by Duluth Trading. Item 28094, it sells for about $30 and you get one of the large and one of the small bags. They make it very easy to separate "stuff" and store it in an easy way to find it. I labeled the bags with a Sharpie pen.

You'll also see me referring to ULINE bags. These are item # S-12319 which are
18" x 20" sealable bags. Same as a Ziploc bag. They are tough and the seal is water tight. I find them excellent for bulky items like the Viking tug rope. But they also work great for folding up a sweatshirt and stuffing behind the seat. Nice to get back to camp and the sweatshirt isn't a big ball of dust or soaking wet! ULINE - Shipping Boxes, Shipping Supplies, Packaging Materials, Packing Supplies $55 for a box of 100.

I use quart and gallon Ziploc bags, but always the "freezer" type. Much tougher bag!!

I mention Gear Ties, these are made by Nite Ize Nite Ize: Innovative Products they are reusable, I haven't ruined one yet. Much better than zip ties. Home Depot & REI carry a good selection or you can order them on-line.

From left to right, and top to bottom:

Small Duluth Trading bag of Fuses & Bulbs & miscellaneous

4 pack - AAA batteries for LED flashlights
2 pack - A23 batteries for Warn wireless winch remote
2 packs - large blade red 10 amp fuses
1 pack - large blade blue 15 amp fuses
1 pack - small blade yellow 20 amp fuses
1 pack - small blade blue 15 amp fuses
1 pack - tubular 2 amp fuses
1 pack - tubular 30 amp fuses for power steering
Selection of wire crimp fittings in a Ziploc bag

1 pack of two extra tail light bulbs
Small Ziploc bag of push rivets and 4" zip ties
Set of extra keys for RZR and toyhauler

Viking spotter line in a ULINE bag

Warn winch accessory bag:

2 - tree saver straps
3 - shackles
1 - snatch block
1 - wired hand controller

Large Duluth Trading bag containing jumper cables

Large Duluth Trading bag containing extra belt and pair of Iridium BKR8EIX plugs

Coleman folding shovel

2 - 18" bungee cords and 2 - 24" bungee cords

Powertank accessory bag along with tire plug kit

Large Duluth Trading bag with owners manual, winch manual, paper work associated with license, proof of insurance, and OHV registrations.

Simple Siphon and 5 feet of clear Tygon tubing in a 1 gal Ziploc bag. I use this to transfer fuel from the gas can in the bed to the fuel tank. No mess this way.

Ziploc bag with four clean microfiber towels

Heavy plastic bag with RZR service manual. Ziploc bag isn't big enough, ULINE bag is too big.

Wife's Gore-Tex rain coat in Ziploc bag

My Gore-Tex rain coat in Ziploc bag

Good first aid kit.

A replacement shift cable

Recent addition not shown - Craftsman 2 ton hydraulic jack

Next up is the Seizmik rack bag. You can no longer get these as they were discontinued 2 years ago. I got very lucky finding two new ones...and bought 'em!

The rack bag has three sections. This is what is in the two outside sections my tool bag is in the center section.

I have the Polaris overhead storage bag.

Image

In it are:

Image

Extra pair of leather gloves for me

Pair of leather gloves for wife

Insulated gloves for wife

Fingerless gloves for wife

Neck warmer for wife

Small Duluth Trading bag containing

Instructions for using Find Me Spot device in Ziploc bag

Find Me Spot device, now in a Ziploc bag

Pack of 4 extra Lithium-Ion batteries for Find Me Spot device

Attached to the roll cage cross tube behind the roof storage bag is an AXIA alloys flashlight holder. In it is a CREE 1600 lumen LED flashlight.

To the top of the Polaris rear brush guard I welded a flat plate with slots for straps to hold on a cooler.

Image

Shown here is my AO Cooler. Yup the embroidery was free!!

The cooler holds 8 bottle or cans of refreshment and two Tupperware sandwich boxes.

Use two the blue blocks formed for cans or bottles an two more small blue blocks. Amazed that at the end of a long, hot 80 mile days the blue blocks are about half melted and everything in the cooler is nice and cold.

Image

The two straps and the 18" orange Gear Tie keep the cooler in place.

In the storage box under the hood are four Ziploc bags containing:

Stocking caps

Neck warmers

Wife's Gore-Tex rain pants

My Gore-Tex rain pants

Mounted on the inside of each door are the Pro Armor door bags. Each contains a large Duluth Trading bag for cell phones, wallets, etc. for basically water proof carrying without having to sit on the stuff!

Have the Polaris locking glove box, it contains:

Cabela's low pressure tire gauge

Warn wireless remote winch controller

Knife

On the roll cage behind our heads, using Polaris light bar clamps, is mounted the PowerTank CO2 bottle that is supposed to be able to fill six RZR tires. Also using Polaris light bar clamps is mounted my fire extinguisher

To all, even with emptying the RZR for Winter maintenance...some how I think I overlooked the wife's kitchen sink...its got to be mounted on here someplace!!!

I do believe in going prepared. I'm very fortunate that often times I'm helping someone else...but that's OK...gotta get everyone home safe!!

Well let's see if I can answer all these questions....

Doonzer,

Mama"s Duluth Trading bag in her door always ahs Carmex, TP is on the right side of the Seizmik bag, carry the large ULINE bags for trash, what hoses? brake fluid....that's an interesting thought...never have needed any. Geedunk...yup Mama always has a Ziploc bag of stuff in the right side of the Seizmik bag. Flares? Hmmm...carry the Find Me Spot and ability to start a fire. Almost afraid of what would happen these days with a flare!

Matt, ya know I've been buying those premixed margaritas in a foil bag, freeze 'em, then squash the bag and enjoy an icy margarita...but I ain't tellin' anyone if I have them on the trail!

Sonny,

Yeah but only a scout for two years while Pop was Chief of Medicine at Valley Forge Army Hospital. But we learned well...Scout Master was a Marine Master Gunner that saw a lot of the Pacific in WWII. Assistant Scout Master was a Bataan Death March survivor. Yup, we were very well prepared scouts and we could walk anybody into the ground!!!

Safety Pins...have to get a card of those. Creamed corn...I like it...Mama prefers brussell sprouts...so I don't carry either. How about your can opener? Got put one of those in too!!
Cyanide capsule??? Nah...I'll get myself out...always have!!

One of the best comments I got in my biking years was from a great big guy Alex. His comment, when Stuart gets that green tool bag out, you know life is going to start getting better!! I really appreciated that!!

Tape measure...heck, I don't remember. It was it was in the bag when I emptied it so I put in the pic and back in.

Hmmm..may have been to check the width of the opening between obstacles. I'm running Maier fender flares and have wrecked a few due to my guarantee that I could make it between those two trees!!! LOL!!!

Pirate,

spare radiator hoses or at least the ability to patch-repair them on the trail. I have split one before, what a mess. Carmex...yeah always carry that too. Poop tickets are very important as pine cones or leaves are so cave man and not very soft on the tush. Flares...road flares, it was just a thought . Back when I rock crawled the Yota, we had to use a road flare as a way to melt off a bolt that was bent beyond removal. Not safe nor for the faint of heart, but it was a last ditch effort to get us back to the highway...and it worked. We also always packed epoxy liquid and metal quick for bonding or patching plastic or steel.

Ooooohhhhh....swiped my list!!! Converted it to Ciffs Notes...HA!!!

Well...its nice to have what's needed on the trail when something goes wrong!!

Oh, and someone asked how I haul all this stuff....HOLZ Stage III motor!!

But I will have to admit...I'm absolutely sick of riding with people that don't have a single tool, with them...and don't even have a cold drink to offer when they get help!!

Ya'll now have an excellent tool list...git busy!!!

You know, I doubt there's a 100 pounds in all of it.

All the stuff in the Lock N Ride box is just bulk. I like the Duluth Trading bags because I can find the. A pack of fuses loose in the bottom...nope never find 'em.

I like the Seizmik rack because its as far forward as you can get.

So it doesn't make the machine rear heavy. The only wheelies I can get are going up the launching pad on Golden Spike in North Moab.
