Anybody used uni-filters. What are pros and cons. Heard bad things about K-N but thought uni's sounded good. Lot cheaper over the long run if the work.

I've always ran K&N on everything I own with an outerwear if available. It's funny when people talk bad about K&N and then throw a K&N outerwear on their foam filter like K&N has part of the technology correct but not the rest lol. I make sure to clean and oil my filter regularly and if you plan on owning the machine for any length of time then you will save money with a K&N. Those recharger kits last forever and you can use them on any K&N filter. plus they flow better and with an outerwear to block the more fine particles then I don't see what all the fuss is about. I've seen dyno runs where a K&N will add 3 or more horsepower and I bought my 2004 Z71 off the showroom floor and ran a K&N in it for 214k miles and sold it with it still in it. I didn't have an outerwear on it even and I live on gravel roads out in the boonies. The 5.3l in that truck didn't use any oil an would still get sideways on dry pavement at 214k.

I have a K&N in my truck. Never in my RZR. Nothing beats paper in dirt. Period.

Well it has been thoroughly discussed here on here before but the k&n does work on the street very well but if u use it in very dusty conditions it will let fine dust particles by. Trust me it cost me a engine and I will always use paper filters on my off road vehicles. Uni filters does work better but like k&n they will still let some fine particles past but it really depends on your riding conditions and different people will have different results.
