If your not behind someone then you may not need the goggles. Now the helmit thing is something that if your just tool-n around at slow speeds and have clear vision all the way around you I'd say no.

CA made it a law and I am PO'd at that but after seeing and hearing some of the stuff on hear I would lean towards wearing the helmit. Even if you are just crusing also maybe.

We rode last month in AZ with no helmits and were riding pretty fast, hitting some good size ruts and up some hills we actually couldn't make it up and had to back down. Thought about if I would of rolled it or put it on it's side and hit my head against the bar after the trip. Thinking I'll be talking it next time.

It prolly would be wise to wear a helmet

on all motor cars

I should prolly wear one when I drive golf cart, bicycle or boat

I wear helmet when I ride rzr most of the time

how-ever I have only have 800 hours on her

Now my cars that I have driven thousands of hours on

They are more than likely to have head injury cause of amount of time

behind the wheel of car than behind the wheel of rzr

I feel that if I do get head injury

My money would be on

While driving car, Not RZR

I have to admit I would think that the OP being a medic (and thank you for what you do) would not have to ask this question. Betting you've have seen far worse than most.
Ever looked around the outside of a hospital and seen all the Dr.s, nurses and others smoking? Even those that know the statistical outcome still take chances.

Like most I don't wear it when I'm just running around my property or even when running down the rd at 55. I don't wear one when I run down the same rd in my Jeep with no top on. But when I go to the ORV I wear it. The chances of rolling or just flopping it over and knocking my noggin on a rock go up considerably.

Helmets and goggles, we don't leave home without 'em

As the owner of a RZR, I wear a helmet and goggles. If you won't wear one, you don't ride with me. While sitting in your RZR , look at the seat belt attachment on the roll bar above your left shoulder....You want that slicing your head open?

Brain Bucket or Skid Lid. What ever you prefer, they are called that for a reason. They can't protect you if you don't wear them. As a medic, you should understand about how little of a head injury can be life altering. Do you want to have to go through that with yourself or your wife? Helmets, while they are not a 100% guarantee, they are better than the alternative. Cheap insurance. I used to never wear a helmet, but you now will not find me riding without one.

We each have 3 different types - half helmet for when it's hot, full face, flip up for cold riding, and dirt bike helmets for on the trails. Sometimes we get a bit stupid and don't wear a helmet but need to set an example for the grandbaby so we have decided to wear one all the time.

It doesn't matter if you know how to drive or where you drive, shit happens that a helmet can prevent.

Without question! Yes. Always wear a helmet. My head looked like Johnnys after a tip over in camp. Riding shotgun with my helmet in my lap. Turning around to get fuel before going out on a ride. Rollbar vs. head = head loses. We just dont take any chances

No helmet here.I have been riding since I was old enough to walk and don't really like them unless I am riding in an area with a lot of other people around or planing on running at high speeds.IMHO eye protection is a must, have gotten more than one bug in the eye and it does not feel good. Also you never know when some idiot is going to fly by you and spray you with rocks and debris.Just my 2 cents worth.

Required to wear DOT approved helmet at the dunes. When riding at home in AZ I like wearing my ski helmet and goggles. The ski helmet is very lite and made to accommodate goggles.

I've had crashes on dirt bikes, mountain bikes and road bikes. At least once each where the helmet saved my life. I wouldn't hesitate to wear one in a RZR with all the crazy s**t we're prone to try in them. I figure my day will come when I end up wide on a turn in the high country on a rugged forest road and catch the right front corner on a pine tree at 50 mph.

Far as I am concerned if your doing work on your land or just going down the street no helmet is ok. But people that ride ATVs and dirtbikes in the trails with no helmets are idiots. I been riding since I was 5.

2 years ago I was on my land and got hit on my bike by an ATV at 40 mph. I was parked off the side of the road. Got hurt pretty bad. I had full gear including chest protector boots. My boot had to be cut off because it fused the plastic clips together.
They said I would have been killed without that gear.

I always think what a dumb hillbilly when I see no helmet. Last month I read in the paper an atv hit the back of another going down the road they are both in critical condition.

But then again its your life. Ouch

If I'm in my yard of around the camp ground (10km/h enforced speed limit) I don't wear one but as soon as I hit the trails my brain bucket goes on. The whole group I ride with do. No helmet you don't ride with us.

I always wear my harness, helmet, and goggles when driving the RZR at any offroad park. I mind if you wear a helmet or not when driving your RZR afterall it's your choice, but typically the people who ride with us the first time without a helmet normally buy one before the next ride. :ride: haha

well. When I first got my RZR I said, hey I have a roll cage no need for a helmet. I always wore a helmet when riding dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. When I was 12 I actually busted a helmet up pretty good. KX100, down a trail, front wheel into a ditch and my head into a rock

About 5 months into owning it I got stuck in a trail system, that I couldn't get out of. The only area in and out had a tree down, I climbed over it from one side, but couldn't from the other. So I decided to go down a rather steep hill with a ledge in it. Long story short, I ended up almost rolling, and slide side ways into a tree, then backwards down the hill. I managed to bust my nose, and scratch up my face hitting into something. Not sure what. Could of been a lot worse!

I bought a new helmet the next day. Plus we are trying to teach the kids to wear helmets on their quads and I can't very well say you have to wear a helmet and not wear one myself. Do as I say not as I do doesn't go far.

Street bikes, dirt bikes, ATV’s and sleds, I’ve always worn one. Not terribly crazy about it but too often we don’t get a second chance when things go unpredictably sideways on us. I have a full-face for riding when I’m “exposed” but in the roll cage and relatively low speed trail riding I take a compromised approach and wear a rock climbing helmet which is extremely light weight and comfortable but gives a decent level of protection for bumps against the cage and low speed rollovers. I’ll switch back to the full face for more aggressive riding though. Different strokes for different folks.

Wear your helmets. A good friend's 15 year old niece lost her life in a Ranger roll over recently. Banged her head around pretty bad. A helmet might have saved her.
