I bought 2012 xp 4 900 and totaled it on my first ride in the dunes! I hit a witches eye in gordons well and the whole front end folded up and the cage folded also. I broke the steering wheel and took the column to my chest. Passenger got the handle to the guts and broke his knee bad becau

se the whole dash got pushed up into us. We had harnesses on and they worked but frame and cage both bent. I was going about 15-20 mph

I call bs on that much damage at only 15mph. Let's see the pics.

I still thinks it stupid that polaris build it as 2 pieces. ....

Saw one today in person up close. On a lift. A new unit for delivery. My reaction was disbelief.
How strong is that "bolt-up"? Hard to say. Apparently strong enough that fewer are folding in half but surprised more aren't.

I see this as another ounce of prevention required like "egged holes" prevention. Get under there and beef it up or else.

we never did see a photo.
in all fairness to that "bolt-up" of front and rear the bolt-up may have survived. The frame bent on iether side. Still would love to see the photo.
