Just got my new 2020 XP Turbo a month ago. From factory, my rear shocks are cranked to near the tightest setting and the fronts are near the loosest. Is there a recommended set up for trail riding? No Jumps or dunes in my part of Canada.

very subjective and also varies from person to person and area to area.
i suggest to start at the extremes, then half way. from there your about 2-3 clicks from your personal liking.

that setting will adjust your ride height.... whole nother can of beans for 2020.
i'll let the suspension gurus chime in on that one.
get ready to open up your wallet...lol
this one may need S.A.F approval... (spousal acceptance factor)...lol

Just bought a 2020 as well and working through suspension settings. Trail and fire roads mostly no big jumps. The odd mx track. I cant find anywhere it states how to measure preload. Usually from experience it is from collar to top of threads. My preloads were all over so i set them at stock plus 1/8”. Front 17/8”. Rear 8 3/4”. Clickers at 12. My ride height is crazy high but i am sure as soon as i ride it it will settle in. Then i will re measure

Yes I have the manual as well and have read it. It says nothing about where they actually measure preload. Is it just the threads on shock up from the collar? I assume so as mine is set perfect now but after i lowered it from the jack i boonced it a few times to settle suspension like a dirtbike and my ground clearance was 17”. That was throwing me off. Took for a little rip to settle every thing and it is perfect now at 14 3/4 front and 14 1/4 rear unloaded. Once I get in i settles down an inch. Perfect

Ya i get all that it was more just the exact preload measurement on shock itself. I went straight to walker evans. Its the same as any other mx shock. From collar to top of exposed threads 1.8” front 8.6” rear then adjust for weight etc and check ride height. Not the same shock i know just to show area i refer to

Just trying to help, as I work to learn my new machine. I’ve been watching Shock Therapy videos on you tube and I will have to say they are really good at taking the time explaining how to do things. They will definitely get my business when I move to better springs.

I watched a few of them as well. New to all of this and i love learning. Sorry if i sounded snarky i was getting frustrated with myself. Thinking i wasnt or could explain my issue. Then of course as Top Gun posted with pics from manual i am an idiot. Thanks for the help. Hope OP has been helped by the thread jack also. Geez.

Omg i feel like an idiot. Feel free to flame the new guy. I remember seeing that now. I went back to manual a cpl times over the weekend and never saw. God dammit. And that my friends completely answers my questions and verifies what i found. Never had one of these and always try to research before I post a question in forums. With the right group of guys they are extremely helpful. Some if the banshee forums i am on have been life savers for little tips and tricks to help along the way. Fyi these things are absolutely incredible!!!!
