Need some opinions, I am looking for a new map set for my Garmin Montana 600T. I live in ohio, and I ride Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia mainly. Can anyone tell me which is Better of the VV Mapping or Dan's Maps? Both look good, VV Mapping looks like you get more for less money but I don't know anyone that has used either one. The U.S. in advance.

I have both of these and they both are very good. I like VV Mappings turn by turn directions even though I don't use it very often. We also ride spearhead trails and VV Mapping is the only one that has it. The only problem is VV mapping does not have West side of royal blue, Tackett Creek or Pickett on it and you about have to have the maps to ride there. Dans map for TN are probably the best and that's where we ride the most.

I have vvmapping and I have only used it in the State of Michigan. It is hands down the best available within the State Of Michigan. It is pretty easy to distinguish the different orv trails, routes, and legal roads. I use it on my Garmin as well as on my desktop to create planned rides - and then transfer to my tablets for viewing. I have spent a lot of hours this past off season playing around with different variations of Map programs. Vvmaping paired with Garmin Basecamp and Backcountry Navigator have been the best overall option for my needs -- I have never used Dans Maps, but I see a lot of good reviews on these as well.

Update,
I know this is an old post but I did use both sets of maps on my last 2 trips to Tennessee. I have no complaints out of either one of them. Both worked great and were accurate. The one difference, which others have noted is that Dan's Maps do include Tackett Creek. Luckily I had them on my GPS because we went there with some people that had rode there before, but they got turned around and couldn't remember how to get out of there. Luckily, I was able to guide us out of there using Dan's Maps and we didn't have to spend the night in the woods. For Christmas I got a new tablet with Lifetime Trail Maps. Just messing around with it, this seems like it is another great setup, it will be another nice way to navigate.
