I know people have talked about using Various tablets as on-board gps's. I'm curious as how folks have mounted them and have they held up to the off road vibration and pounding.
I am also running the Bad Elf with my iPad mini.I use an Ipad Mini with an app called Maps3D. I had to buy an external GPS device made by Bad Elf for $99. I got a suction cup mount that attaches to the dash off of Amazon for less then $28. That thing has been secured to my dash for well over a year now and even survived a minor roll over. I swear by that thing and would recommend it to anyone.
Garmin Glo works pretty good too thru the Bluetooth .You can still use the Ipads and devices without an internal GPS. Just get a Dual 160 external GPS receiver and it bluetooths into your tablet or other device. It can bluetooth up to 5 devices at the same time and up to 30'. It can also track you. It comes in a flat rubber small case and sticks on anything. I have used one for years in all kinds of situations works great. I just toss it on the plastic hood of the Razor and it never comes off.
Works great. Even your buddy can bluetooth in and he'll get a signal when he's within that 30'.
