I'm thinking of upgrading my air intake system on my 2010 Rzr-S. I think I'm going with the UMP system. Any special things to take into consideration when doing the install, and how much HP can I expect from this upgraded?

Don't expect any HP increase. That way you won't be disappointed when there isn't any
The UMP intake is for clean air to the motor--not for more power.
One thing to consider is that they are not submergable so if you do alot of water crossing or plan on snorkling its not the best choice.Other than that they cant be beat.
Will not get any HP gains justa reliable filter system. If your looking for cheap HP gains they are not avaliable!!!! Turbo gets the most gains per dollar. GOOD LUCK
The biggest problem I see with the stock or after-market filters is they are to small. The rzr can suck like the women of your dreams and with these small filters they just suck and swallow everything right into the engine. Thats why there has been so many problems thou-out the years. I know that if the filter surface area was say 3-times bigger the rzr could not suck as hard to pull the dirt into the engine. It would be to big to suck....
I would say this setup is the best for a snorkle.Pricy but a hell of alot cheaper than a top end.The ump could be mounted in the bed with some modifying.
i'm not snorkling, but i do ride where water is crossed from time to time. The deepest the water gets is aboutthe height of the tire. What kind of filter would you guys suggest then? Is that to deep of water for this filter? Any other help would be appreciated.
I really liked the set up I seen on here awhile back. The filter housing was mounted, above the bed, off of roll cage at the top of drivers seat. It used a Donaldson filter (I believe). A better set up than an UMP if you are going thru ANY water,IMO.
I have a D&L and very pleased with it, and you have the option to snorkel it. Looked at the inside after a dusty, muddy water weekend ride at brimestone and their was no dirt in the throttle body tube, all the dirt was around the valve at the bottom of the canister and the filter was like it was still new.
I'm not crazy about what D&L charges for their kit but it is a good system if waterproof is important to you & you don't want to DIY.
I've taken my UMP through water and some does seep in around the lid but I didn't park it in water and it all just ran back out without getting the filter wet.
Rather than a bunch of pipes & holes in the bed I think your time would be better spent making a gasket for the lid instead of putting the can on top of the bed. IMO.
