I just received 2 PRP seats for my 08 Rzr from Dragonfire racing. No install instructions. Fit is a good 1/2 inch off at latch post area with or without original latch installed. Called Dragonfire...instructions were going to be emailed to me. Nothing received. Called PRP 3 times. Got answering machine. No return call. Very disappointing. Does anyone out there have install instructions? I hate to send these back, but I am about to. I hate spending good money for a product with no support.

nothing to the install really, i mean most seats you just have to remove the plastic base of your stock seats and then they bolt on to your new seats. Adjust them and thats it. I mean it should really be a 15-20 minute process. I can take pics tomorrow if you like.

These came with a frame already on them. Dragonfire said just move the latch from stock seat to PRP seat. Not the frame. The frame that came on the PRP seat has holes for the latch. Maybe rigging was off when PRP fabricated the frame, but existing latch hole does not fall near pin with seat in place. Latch pin 1/2 inch off. One front foot butts against the front foot 'keeper' bar, other is 1/4 in back from front bar with or with out latch installed on seat (seat is sideways some). No room to move seat one way or another. Maybe they shipped me the wrong seats? Latch mounting holes match though.

I have the same seats and they are not off like yours. Sounds like they either sent you the wrong seats or the holes were drilled wrong. PRP makes a top quality seat IMO. I have had great success with their customer service as well. Give them a chance to correct it.

I have the same problems and frustrations with my install of those seats.
It seems to me the seat was too far back. Try bending mounting bar forward. I may have also enlarged latch mounting hole on the seat, can't remember for sure.
I remember starting with the driver side, it didn't fit. Tried the passenger side and it was closer. So I figured with a little manipulation the drivers side would go.
When you do get them in you WILL love them.

I recently saw a rear prp seat in a ranger xp and couldn"t believe how loose the cover fit. PRP seats have always been top quality imo but starting to wonder whats up? Out sourcing to China??? What gives?

So that's the secret! Accepting Amex = good company to deal with???

No.
You can get your money back through Amex.
Amex takes the customers side in refund disputes.

With Visa or Mastercard a business dispute means the customer is wrong as far as they are concerned.

One of a few red flags to tell you you may be dealing with a bad company.

If a company doesnt take AMEX, click around and see customer takes, and especially look at their return policy.
If they even have one they probably won't honor it anyway.

BTW: Forget Paypal helping you recover your money if the transaction goes sideways.

The bad economy has the Side By Side vendors promising everything works to make a sale, yet, in our case, it rarely does fit or work.

So far, UTV Crap has been OK to deal with. Rude as hell on the phone, but they follow through with what they promise, and have some above average knowledge of what works and what doesn't.
Also, if they don't have what you seek, they'll get it for you ASAP.

Dragonfire is spoiled hasn't woken up yet that the SxS aftermarket is getting very competitive, word gets out quick on bad service, and the economy is going to tank far far worse, and far far longer than what we see now.

prp is getting a little behind on the customer service side since Kelly left and Mitchs wife going in to labor. they were also closed from dec 20 to jan 7 as well.

Repeat, dont know who you talked to on the phone, but let me formally appologize for either my own rudeness or someone else who works here. we never try to be rude, some times its more of a rush thing since we are so busy 90% of the day we have so much stuff going on.

i am sorry again, if youd like to give me a call personally you can call my cell phone 602-703-5754. if i do not answer its because im with another customer and i dont think its right to answer a phone while helping a customer in person.

back to the seats..

if youre on the west side you can come to the shop and i can show you how to install or i can fax or email you the old style seat instructions!?

i have the PRP seats in mine with the Crow 5pt harness and i love them. i have adjusted the seats a couple times to get them to my liking, but it wasnt as bad as i thought to put everything together. But i have an okay amout of fab skills and a shop with everything i need....the right tools make it a lot easier...lol

I remember what I had to do to make them fit

The crossbar that the seat pin bolts to had to be nudged. This bar has some play and when taken off to access clutch cover perhaps wasn't re-installed in the exact location as before.

I too had the "I'm sending these dam things back" attitude, but it was much easier to overcome the mounting problem than it would have been to return/reorder new seats.

As stated before, once installed they're so nice you'll forget all about the install problem :cool018:

I have those seats, bought them from the dealer up in Cedar City Utah, great dealer by the way, since it was the first set they received we had to "massage to fit". We bent the front cross bar forward just a bit and watched the bracket aliign up then it is only a case of reaching thru the seat to pull up on the latch and popping it in.
Great seat but you do loose some leg room, and with the 4 point installed thru the seat it takes a bit more time to snug yourself in. Wonce you are in, you are IN.

All replies have been helpful and appreciated. The one thing coming out of all this is that they are very comfortable and may be worth the grief of getting them to fit. My rzr has never been rolled or hit in 1800 miles, but it now looks like the passenger side fits (though it rubs against the "elbow" cage tubing, but it fits). For the driver side to fit, I need to bend that elbow-side cage tubing out about 3/8". I did tried banging with a mallet. No luck. Today I will try a hydraulic jack. Hope I don't bust a weld.

American Express takes a higher percentage of sales. That is why many people don't want to take it. As far as disputes, the dirty little secret is that the credit card companies keep the money. It doesn't matter what documentation you send them (from the vendor side) they don't care. Now whether or not they give the customer the money, I doubt that too.

This is a pretty interesting thread....I have ran my own business for some 20 years with 100+ employees....and vendors the customer does not care about your issues weather it be the CC company pays late......dispute resolution....my pussy hurts or whatever....it is and will remain...what can you do for me today, not what you did for me yesterday.....the below average customer as a rule is a pain in the ass...does not understand the ins and outs of running a business.....what it takes to keep your business afloat....nor do they as a rule.. care. What the customer does want is someone pleasant to answer the phone......someone with either firsthand knowledge or can get the answer....competitive pricing and bingo....move to the next one.....good proffesional help and good follow up when there are issues.....there is absolutely no excuse for not returning a call.....with this simple equation you have just put yourself in the top 10%

I have called them 3x in the last month to get a set of plain black seats and spoke with 3 different people who promised to get back to me with an availability.

No return calls..........

No good excuse for not returning calls or doing follow up on a problem unless it's poor management or a company has all the business they think they need. I see it all the time in eating places. A new restaurant opens up and is doing well, then the owner/manager decides to stop coming in to check on things or a poor manager and help is hired and soon it is is closed and the owner wonders what happened to my business. Of course, there are some that survive in spite of poor management.
