Good post !
I have been meaning to start a turning radius post for a while now but haven't taken the time
Ever since the XP Pro came out Polaris and others confirmed it had a much tighter turn rad than the previous years. It is also several inches longer than my 2018 XPT 2 seat .
So my quest is to find out ,what could possibly interchange from the XP Pro to my XPT or what do I have to do to get that tighter turn Rad. I am also curious how the CV angles can handle the extra angle and if they will hold up. I would really like to reduce the turn radius of my XPT anyone know the answers.?
Would also be nice to confirm how many turn's it is lock to lock and if the steering is speed sensitive and at what speed it activates .... some ones got to know
I didn’t count the other night but from off hand it turned quite sharp very quickly. Seemed like 1 and a half turns was full. This is just by the 1 hour I drove it. Don’t quote me on it but it made me think hmm 🤔 if it turns sharper quicker will it at speeds turn sharper than I want and cause it to roll? Time will tell haven’t been able to get it out.
So that would be 3 full 360 turns from left lock to right lock.... that seems like a lot, the old ones are 2.5, maybe that's where they get the extra angle... must be like turning a bus steering wheel lol
I just checked my 2020 xpt4. 1.5 turns full left to full right. Or from center 3/4 turn to full left and 3/4 turn to full right. The tires don’t seam to have that drastic of an angle. My JKU will turn more sharp and they are almost the same length.
The Pro turns really well. You never feel like your going to roll at speed. The wheel and telescoping ability are awesome. Very impressed with it so far.
