Turn signal wiring.

I have all the stuff set up and ready to go to install my turn signals today. I am using single input (2 wire) LED's for the front turn signals and the outside reds on my rear light bar. I am using a LED turns signal relay with fixed timing.

If I only want turn signals everything wires up and works correctly.

The rear LED have constant power and stay on with a separate wire for turn signal.

I thought it would also be nice to have the front LED's on all the time. I wired up a relay with a single light to test this out. Using pin 87a has the light on constant and then when connect pin 86 (switch) to power the light goes out. I can tap the switch wire to positive at the same rate as a turn signal and it works.

I then tried doing the same thing by using the output side of the turn signal switch. When I do this the light stays on constant and the turn signal relay quits flashing. My question is, is there a way to do what I want? Is the flasher relay not putting out enough power to trigger the relay? Is there some kind of feedback loop since the flasher quits working? Other?
