I have a 2022 Turbo R Ultimate 4 seater. I noticed at the dunes last trip the front wheels were not engaging when we were in 4 wheel drive. The switch was on and the ride command showed I was in 4 wheel. I finally got stuck and the front wheels were defiantly not spinning at all. We took it in for service. They diagnosed and determined the front diff was not working. We have after market warranty and the warranty company made them tear it apart to verify the diff was bad. My service advisor called and said the front diff is on backorder and has an ETA of 3/20/2024. I called around and checked the Polaris website and for some reason there are no front diffs in stock anywhere.

So now after have a Stop and Ride for 6 months we are now supposed to wait another 2 months or longer for a front diff. This is very frustrating as this is the time of year we use our vehicle the most.

I called partszilla as well as babbits and many others. they show they are shippable, but they are all on backorder.
I am not sure what exactly is wrong with the diff and why it can't be just repaired. I was told that the diffs have a known issue that where when they get hot, they will stop working. At first when the tech looked at it, they said it was fine until they put it up on the rack, then they could tell that it would not work.

Our 23 turbo R 4 Ultimate had a bad magnet ( cracked) and was replaced after 200 miles/and first time really needing the front to work- And yup like yours, the light was on and the ride command said also but no- go- so it was making the connection and verified- but with what we found in pieces -no way it would have engaged.

Polaris kicked on on a new one - This was right after Christmas.

I would agree with @Highrider it's probably just the magnet. Mine is torn apart right now waiting on a new magnet/cover assembly to arrive. It's pretty common. The bad thing is Polaris only sells the magnet as part of the cover assembly (PN: 3239499) and it's not cheap:

My cage plate looked a little tweaked when I was inspecting it so I am going to upgrade it to a Sandcraft cage plate while I have it apart.

I will say, it's not an insignificant task to get the diff out. I'd ask the dealer/mechanic if the diff can be repaired or what specifically is wrong with it. Most of the time, they can be repaired. If they just can't repair it for some reason, ask the dealer to put in a "machine down" order for the replacement diff and they should be able to pull one out of the assembly line and get it much faster.

Thanks for the input. I too noticed the replacement part. thanks for expanding on what the changes are. I contacted Polaris and they are going to run a search nationwide to see if this part is available. I will also be contacting my service advisor to have him contact Polaris and tell them to mark the part as urgent. Polaris says this will move us to the front of the line. I will see if they can also tell me what failed in the diff.

A coffman diff is the end all problems diff. I have went through 3 front diffs in my turbo r4 on 35s. First diff i twisted the drive shaft and broke the ring gear at 270 miles. Warranty told me to pound salt. So i did a full rhino drive shaft and a new replacement oem diff 3400 dollars. That lasted 600 miles b4 it broke the sprag cage and armature plate. So then i rebuilt it with the full sandcraft hd kit with bearings, and all billet parts inside another 800 dollars in. Then 500 miles later the front diff just stopped working. Found the magnet had 73 ohms and was bad. This time i gave up and bit the 3100 dollar bullet on a coffman diff.

Well I'm in the process of installing everything on my turbo r so cant speakfor it yet. But I had a Coffman diff in my turbo s on 35s. I beat on it very hard for 4k miles and never hurt it. Prior to the Coffman in my turbo s I broke 2 diffs in 1200 miles in it as well. I'm sure this one for the turbo r will b the same end all like my turbo s. And if i remember correctly i had the og coffman diff in my turbo s. Now they are the 2nd updated version that are supposedly better yet. Coffman can also build your current turbo r diff if it's not broken or hurt for 2100. So that's another great option for people.

Joe's Diffs are legit. I'm not as hard of a rider as his crew but I'm buddies Joe and some of his crew and trust me they are tough!

He's got a prototype or two for the Pro R in testing right now.

I have 2 friends in our group with 4 seaters that absolutely do not lift on hills and thrash the hell outa them. His diffs are the only thing that has lived with them. I have one in my turbo r. Sucks to spend that kinda money but after trying the other options and then them failing the coffman is the only option to trust.
