I try to ride up there as much as I can we have a camp in osceola about 40 mins from flat rock

 

Is it good riding, trails, road?

 

A little of both, it gets dusty in summer which is an understatement lol look up snirt run its in April it's a good time

 

2012 snirt run was a dust bowl, really bad..

the snirt run is starting to suck with the fealing of being patrolled the whole time. Also if you stay on the edge hotel side you have to trailer somewhere an unload cause the cops don't want ya leaving from hotels plus they want ya back when the runs over. It just started turning into a big shit show and I get that uneasy fealing ever time I come out to a road that the cops are lurking..

 

I p,an on putting my camper at Flat Rock for the summer. Where is the Edge side?

 

The edge is in Turin
Flat rock is not far from the edge but up on top of the plateau right on the atv trails it's a nice place but gets to busy for me in the winter don't know much about the summer camping

Cool, thx. I just went and bought 2 sleds yesterday and are going to head up Saturday for our first snowmobile trip. I hope my wife can keep hers between the ditches.

 

Ever ride before? It's going to be nuts there on the weekends with no snow anywhere else.

 

No we have not rode before. Trouble for newbies up there?

 

Not necessarily but it gets snow when nowhere else does so everyone from PA, NY, and VT will be there on the weekend. I would advise heading out early morning and being back by dark. It will get very bumpy in the afternoon and it's not unusual to see 3' moguls everywhere by dark. First time there we got caught 30 miles from the hotel at dark and it took hours to ride back through the bumps. New riders will get tired quickly and the wife will enjoy it a lot more with less bumps. We are considering trying western NY some time this year as we hear it's not as busy.

We were up last weekend and it was ridiculous, I suggest riding during the week if you can the groomer are out more and the trails are way smoother

 

Thanks. We drove up last Saturday and you are right it was a mad house in every parking lot.

 

Old forge would prolly be better for newbs it's kinda more tourists and family oriented,but not sure on there snow fall. Tug hill really has the balls to the walls riders
