Hey guys..... how often are you guys changing the fluid in your front and rear gearcases, trans and transfer case? The book says change yearly.... but that seems like a huge waste of money.

See what you think of my theory..... if the book says to check your fluid level every 25 hours, 250 miles or monthly and to change yearly..... that assumes that you are doing 25 hours or 250 miles a month. So if you mulitiply those numbers by 12..... that should give you your service interval, right? 300 hours or 3000 miles

let me know what you guys think.... my rzr only has 34 hours and 745 miles on it.... I don't wanna just throw my money away!

I think having clean oil is NEVER a waste of money.
I think you missed the point....... if that was the case..... why not change the oil in your RZR every night?

I ride the sand dunes twice a year and I change all the oils everytime I get back. maybe thats excessive but the oil comes out with alot of metal in it especially the front diff. I spent alot of money for a toy so whats an extra few dollars for peace of mind.

If your running water/mud or sand a lot, I would think that U should change them quite often. Don't forget about that first oil change, sooner the better to remove those break in wear metals. On my first oil change I found gasket foam pieces of some kind (light brown color) blocking some of the holes in the oil filter. Upon cutting the filter open, I found more. I'm glad I changed it sooner than later! Also, fluid levels from the factory can run low.

I am changing the front with every engine change.
Cheap insurance in a case that only holds 7 oz (I was stunned to see that little in it)
The other gearcases- as recommended.
I do recommend changing all oils after a short break in on a new car.
I think I did the engine at 50 and 150 miles.
