Tragic accident at the Reno to Vegas race

"As many of you following Vegas to Reno are aware we had an incident at RM11 that caused us to put a temporary hold on the start of the race. A UTV driver was involved in a serious incident after he elected to leave his race vehicle and walk back to a checkpoint after breaking down. Unfortunately the driver in question has succumbed to injuries after being struck by another race vehicle while attempting to cross the course. Despite BITD Rescue Staff and air medical support being on site the injuries were simply too severe. Everyone at BITD is deeply saddened by this development and will share more information as it becomes available. We have gone back to live racing as of 3:55pm".
