Trade in Value Question

I went to my dealer, 1.5 hours from my house, to see about a Rzr 4 or maybe a Ranger Crew. This is the same dealer I bought my Rzr and all of it's parts from.

I have a 2009 Rzr (std) with 427 miles and 48 hours on it. It also has a Polaris lock-n-ride back box, rearview mirror, soft top and a $1500 set of wheels and tires. I had to finance it because I work for a living and still owe $9000 on it. He told me he would give my $8000 trade for it and acted like I should thank him for it. I told him, if I keep all my stuff and trade it as stock I would do it so he said well in that case I will only give you $7500.

Can the resale value really be that bad on these things or do I need to sell it out right or find a new dealer.

Not an LE? You probably won't get much more than $7500 for a standard Rzr with no accessories. So the dealer thinks the goodies are only worth $500? I like the idea of you keeping them and depriving him of $2000+ worth of add-ons for that Rzr4.

How much do you think he should give you? On a used rzr the extras don't add to how much the credit union will give you. They will probably turn around and sell it for 9500 to 10000 they have to turn around and make money off it. I would just try to sell it on your own.

Except for the soft top, all of your add ons will fit the RZR4 don't give the dealer that money. For that matter if you're going to sell it outright still keep your add-ons you'll never make the money back on them, and you will probly want them on the RZR4.

That's about right for a used RZR.
The guys paid about $8500 delivered from TN for my '09 LE with a hard top.
It had 4 hours on it and 34 miles.

Sell it on your own. You know what you have to get for it.
If you keep it a little longer the price will flatten out a bit.
You're still in the steep part of the depreciation curve.
