im still new with the sidexside stuff, if i buy a hitch for my 2013 RZR 900 is it ok to pull a 4x8 utility trailer with wood about #1500 in wight. seems like it has plenty of power just wondering about the drive train, will it hold up?

I'm not 100% certain, but that seems like a bad idea. That's like towing an XP4 900 which I have read blew the tranny on someone. There is no hitch receiver on the 900 maybe for that reason? I know they sell hitches for them but 1500 lbs seems over the top. Someone else can probably shed more light on your question. You may have to break up that wood into 3 loads!
I put a receiver on my 900xp and figure it would be safe to move the my 20' trailer around in my neighbors drive way and load up my 800 onto it so we don't have to do it in the morning. Bad idea. Not only did it left the front wheels off the ground but it bent the shit out of the bracket. Never do that again. I have used it to pull my truck out of the sand a couple times when I got it stuck.
What "bracket" did you bend, and was the 800 rzr on the trailer when it bent? That would be an awful lot of tounge weight. I've pulled my 14' tandem axle (~1400lbs) around many times with both a 400 and 500 Sportsman but it was empty, and it was just on the yard.
Just put a hitch on my xp but havent used it.
I got the mount from KFI and it did not have good support brackets welded under the hitch. We were not paying attention to the tongue wait and just wanted to make it easier to load up in the morning.Once the 800 got on the front of the trailer the xp wheels came off the ground .We should have left the 800 over the wheels and it would have been fine. The part that bolts to the raduis rods bent inward when the reciever went down. We had to pull the ball out of the reciever to seperate the ttrailer from the xp. I purchased another one from KFI and welded on two gussets below the receiver. I will never do that again. I just looked on their website and they have a different style that has one gusset welded under the reciever. That receiver has come in handy when I got my truck stuck or you have to tow a buddy back to camp.
The only towing ours will see is the emergency rescue situation, if some one breaks down and can't limp back to the trailer. I carry tow straps, hope I never have to use them.
Wow.... I would hate to get stuck behind you....? I have a 3500 lb winch mounted to the rear of my 900 and I have pulled out countless outlanders with it.... Not even a hiccup in the frame/emp bracket.
ok guys thanks for input, when the time comes and starts hauling I'll cut the weight back to #800-1000 pounds with trailer included and used low rang when driving slow I should be all right.
Are you guys serious? I've towed out several full size vehicles who where stuck or broke down. Used low range and AWD, took it slow and had zero problems. Last one that comes to mind was a lifted Avalanche with a blown motor, weighed around 6,000 lbs.
Dang! One of my favorite things to do is help stranded Duner's. My winch and tow strap get lots of use . No better way to meet new people than to tow them back to camp throwing sand all over them!:rofl3:
