A friend and I were following an X3 and we all took the wrong trail (snowmobile) The X3 never look back and decided to back up, like there's no tomorrow, right into me from a distance of approx. 20ft.

The worst thing was the winch that hit the left side of the front suspension. The rest of the damage are all plastic.
600 miles 27hrs and 3 weeks old.

That day temperature was -30C or -22 Fahrenheit plastic becomes very brittle.
Front fenders extension were so damaged I left them both at the crash site

WOW, they totaled the machine for that?! Looking at the pictures, seems like very minor damage, you could take a set of heavy duty pliers and bend that single piece in the front back. The rest of the damage looks like surface scratches.
Would you buy the car repaired with heavy duty pliers and surface scratches hit in the suspension structural ??

And pay the same price as an undamaged one ??

This seems to me that it should be the other guy’s insurance paying out here. He hit you.

On another note, I’d find out about the buy-back price for your totalled RS1.

Yes, over here, when you’re not found responsible for a collision your insurance pay’s for your damage but collect the other party involved.

Just talk to the insurance adjuster and he totaled the RS1. Talk to him about swapping the frame for a new one, or do the repair to the existing frame .

Reframe not legal in Canada due to serial number.

Repair not possible one of the A arm attachment point has a stress crack just before the weld.

I will have to shop for a new one[emoji45]
