This is a big help to people that are buying wheels and tires. I had to do this reserch myself by calling itp and other companys. waiting for all the return phone calls was a bitch. Do to weight and all around use i think mud lite is the way to go. mud lite tire is great in mud sand snow and its not bad on hard pack. It can handle rock crawling but if you do alot of rock crawling you may want to use a lite tire with less lug and just as strong of ply. remember less weight is more ground horse power.

 

Pardon my ignorance but why do 14" tires weigh more than 12"?

I thought the 12" has more side wall and would weigh more.

Anyone have the the Swamplites? How do they ride / perform vs the mudlites?

I had the mudlites on my quad, but they rode rough on hard pack / pavement

Thanks for the info. Th weight you are showing for the 26" tall bighorns thats for a bare tire or tire and which wheel? Would you know? Even you if you guys can't answer this you've been a great help. I am just trying to keep up with my brother who rides an 08 sportsman h.o. hehe. I can't wait to see if I can atleast stay with him in acceleration. This weekend I will be installing my new lte duals w/efi controller, k&n, and epi clutch. You guys think I'll keep up with him? He used to pull on me about 3-4 bikes till my top end which was 55MPH on GPS completely stock.

If you want to beat your Brother use Goodyear Rawhide MTR Radials 25X10-12 Rear and 25X8-12 Fronts on ITP C-Series Type 5 or 6 Rims...LTE Exhaust - Controller - Open your air box - Hot Brake it for your start hold the brake a little and yes this is hard on your belt but I have done it many times then launch on take off - Front tires aired up to 10-12 psi so they roll good - Rear at 8-10 depending on what you are racing on (8 on gravel - 10-12 on street or Concrete) - Take the Quiet Cores out and the Spark Arrestors - Spank him good....

 

I just got a set of ITP Terracross XD so I'll post the weights:
26x11Rx12 - 28.8 Lbs.
26x9Rx12 - 24.7 Lbs.

The XD version weighs 2 pounds more per tire than the old version due to the extra rubber thickness and extra sidewall ply. That makes these about 5 pounds per tire heavier than my Mud Bug R tires--but still lighter than the Bighorn or MST, which are both great tires. I'm getting these mounted today and hope to get a feel for them this weekend.

 

I am just changing front rims right now and weight for OEM front steel rims is a 10 # not 8#. When I take tires from rear I will post weight for it. I am using ITP 12SS 103 12 x 7 size and they are 10 # also.

Yes you could be correct...my stock rims were silver when I got my RZR and I think MartyMoe told me they were off a Polaris 800 4X4 and were not stock RZR wheels, but they did weigh 8 lbs for the Front and 10lbs for the Rear, sorry if anyone was misinformed or mislead...I have never owned a Polaris before and did not realize the stock RZR came with Black Rims and a different style? from the Polaris 800 rims...

 

Have a 2002 sportsman 500, took rear tire off yesterday to see if it fit on my rzr and it did ,then i weighed the tire witch is goodyear rawhide grip with wheel that the machine came with whitch is a chrome wheel and it weighed 40lb. size AT 25x11-12. The rzr tire & wheel weighed 31lb. 25x10-12 big diff.the rzr is 4 ply sportsman 6 ply.

one of my riding buddys have rawhide mtr and thay sisify the rzr. he may or may not win in a drag race but i will destroy him in the mud and the man department. I would use stock tires before i would sisify my rzr.

 

But he would destroy you on the Gravel...Dirt...Asphalt...Sand...Grass....Hummmm but you would get the sissy in the mud...I guess if thats your definition of a sissy then I would like to see the small definition you have for a "man"? IE: That sisfied RZR spanked me on the Dirt Trails, the Gravel Road, on the Highway, in the pasture, in the sand dunes, BUUTTTT I got him in the mud yeah me...myself the MUD STUD:crackup:

I have 27" big horns and I draged raced a buddy that was stock and have no problems, I actually won. 800cc can push any tire.

 

What rims do you have with them 27" Bighorns? Did you need spacers? Thanks, lukiss

 

I have the stock 12" rims, 2" spacers, and a cheap 100.00 2" lift. The tires will rub on the fire wall when you turn the wheel. The lift got rid of that rub. The 2" spacers look sweet and they are just enough to clear the right motor mount.

 

I just ordered the Terracross R/T XD and the 212SS machined rim. I will have them tuesday. I will report back, but I hope i like them. I paid 670 shipped to my door is that a good price?

 

I also have theterracross XD 26" and 14" ITP ss212 Rims Does any one have the weight on these. The back tires are huge very wide.

27" will not affect noticeable performance, I'm about to put 27's on my 4 also and from my research you will be fine

 

Im confused. I thought most people swapped the steel wheels for aluminum to save weight. This shows the steel wheels are lighter? I think Im gonna get a set of steel wheels for my sand tires if they weigh less than aluminum. Ill just flip them around for more width and save the money I was gonna spend on new machined rims.

I followed your link, but the rim I like (elixer) lists TBA for the wheel weight. When will you be announcing that weight?

 

Sand Tires Unlimited Sand Blaster 26x12 Pro's comp cut 32 paddle with 1in stagger cut tires on Hiper 12x10 billet center wheels for rear = 27lbs

Fullerton smoothies tires to match the above on 12x8 wheels for front = 18lbs

Sorry, no info on the invidual wheel/tire weights.
