Hey everyone, how’s it going? We hope everyone is doing well. We’ve spent a chunk of the past 12 months working on automotive projects that kept us from working on R&D for new UTV products. These automotive projects are winding down now and we’ll be releasing a bunch of new UTV products throughout the rest of 2012.
The first new UTV part we have going into production right now is the Thunderhawk Bumper Brace / Radiator Saver for 2011-2012 RZR, RZR-S and RZR-4.
Many of you are familiar with the Thunderhawk Bumper Brace for the 2008-2010 models. Well, when we first re-designed this part to fit the 2011’s, our testing showed that the large cut-out in the center, required to fit with the larger 2011 grille, significantly reduced the strength of the bumper brace. Instead of adding a structural component for extra strength, the large cut-out basically reduced the brace to be only a second layer of steel with the same weak two-tab design as the stock Polaris part. Since this wouldn’t meet the standards set by our 2008-2010 brace, we started over and we now have this new patent-pending design for the 2011-2012 models.
Here is a quick picture we shot of the new part. We’ll have better pictures next week. We are building these parts right now. Anyone who has contacted us in the past about this part will get first-dibs, then we will release the remaining parts from the first production-run on our website. We’ll be sure to let everyone here know when these parts are released.
It’s great to be back. We’re looking forward to having some fun this summer designing RZR parts again. If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me directly.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
