I have been reading alot in here about how the 4 has a smoother ride but kinda under powered, and how the longer wheelbase helps in rock crawling a little. Right now I have a RZR for my wife and son, but nothing for me just yet. I plan on fixing that around this summer with a used unit (when I come back from Iraq on leave). I plan on getting one to build into a nice trailrider, but pretty good rock crawler. I have been looking at some pictures of frames and a build by Jagged-x, and I am thinking about cutting the frame and stretching 12 inches. I already planned on a new rollcage so thats not a big deal. I think the rest of it is the drive shaft, wiring, brake and throdle cable and rad hose. Any thoughts about this out there?

I have seen those I think, but those are behind the seat. I wanna stretch the frame in front of the seats to get a little more leg room also. I wanna move the seats back 4 inches and move the fuel tank behind the seats so I can lower the seats some and build a lower roll cage.

I think that came out wrong. I want to stretch it 12 inches total. 4 inches for more leg room and the other 8 behind the seats for a new fuel cell and the ability to lower the seats down. does that make more sence?

I did think about that but after buying another rzr and the other parts I want to go on it, the $$$$ might be kinda tight. I have all the tools to do it myself. plus a rzr4 would take up more room on my already shrinking trailer. I don't need the full 26 inches, I just want a little bit more room.....I'm not building this out of my wifes rzr, I'm getting another one for myself, sorry for the confusion.

I would lengthen all the wiring. I plan to build a new floor pan with this. All the front and rear plastics would be ok because I would leave those areas untouched. I just wann add 12 inches to the passanger area. I would also build some kind of rock sliders or boat hull the sides while I was at it.

Guys, don't get me wrong. It is going to be a while before I start this. I am leaving for Iraq in feb, and the old lady wants me to wait until I come back on leave before I by another toy. But this will be my first project when I get it. I was just wanting to hear some opinions or if anyone had tried or done this before.

Thanks for the support. I really don't worry about the politics that much, after 4 trips over there. I just think about what I'm gonna do with all that cash when I get back. But thanks again

Well, I finally got my own(2nd rzr). My wife suprised me with a brand new 2011 trail rzr. Now my only problem is I am having a hard time cutting a brand new rzr in half. Maybe I can swap over the plastics from my wifes rzr to mine and cut the 09 in half. :scared2: That and I only have a few weeks left to go riding with my wife and son before I head over to Iraq again and would rather spend them riding and not welding my rzr back together. This project will still happen, just not right away.
