Strange Voltage event

I would like to see if anyone has any insight as I try last ditch attempt to diagnose it as anything butt the stator. Here's what I got for today. voltage DC connected negative and positive poles on the battery with meter. in the key off position the battery DC voltage climbs steady back to it was before trying to start. with the key in the pre start position any voltage that was lost is not regained. starting position I get the normal voltage drop for fuel pump and starter as each does its job. released back to prestart running voltage loss does not return.

Ok here is the head scratcher when I apply gas press on the accelerator does the voltage go up? NO Does the voltage maintain at loss voltage point? NO -- What I get is the the voltage drop 1/2 volt segment i.e. if the voltage after start was 12.50Volts when I give it the gas the voltage would drop to 12.40V or 12.45V and then the thing again that makes me want to hit my head on the roll bar when I turn the key back to off position the volts start climbing back towards 12.70V

Stator is only involved with a spinning engine, how is this testing anything to do with the stator?

Also does the machine have a 3 position key (Off-Run-Start) or 4 position (Off-Lights-Run-Start)? I'm guessing when you say "pre start position" you mean Run, is this correct?

Have you pulled the battery out and load tested it?

The only way I know to test a stator is with an Ohm meter. Do you have a service manual with the instructions and acceptable values? If it passes that, but it isn't outputting, it could be the magnet(s) on the flywheel.

I have tested the stator and showed about 10.30 output on all three stages which is half of what is expected. The Voltage regulator was evaluated and passed all of the two tests on it. The ignition switch has off / run / start. What I did yesterday was try and disconnect anything except what is needed to get the machine started. When running and pressing on the accelerator the volts goes down? I have always read they should go up. This has made me think there could be a short somewhere in the system.

First off, how about some punctuation? If it make my brain hurt trying to decipher what it is you are trying to say, then most of the time I will just move on.

The voltage climbs back up with the key off, because you are removing the load from the battery. This is normal.

The voltage does not climb back up to prestart levels while the key is still on because there is still a load from the electrical system on the battery even if the engine is not running.

You battery is likely weak. Charge it, and then take it somehave it tested.

My biggest concern is when pressing on the accelerator the voltage goes down. In any book or video, I have seen the voltage should go up to 14.00Volts or better or stay the same if there is not charge. I have not seen anywhere where the voltage should go down when the accelerator is depressed when running.

How does punctuation help solve the problem, not looking for an answer just stating an opinion. I think what I would do is pull the battery and charge it on a standalone charger to 100%. Load test the battery if you have a load tester or multimeter or take it to most any auto parts store and have them check it as K&M recommended. However you do it the battery needs to be out of the circuit to test. JMHO

I'm glad to hear you figured it out.
