I installed my STM clutches today. All I can say is so far I am happy with them the way I received them. Thank You Swingarm1 @ Tagteam for the great service. I installed the rage 6 with secondary. I put about 10 miles on it on blacktop. This was running between 50 and 60. Right before I got back home I opened it up and it ran a solid 80 MPH. Clutch temp was running less than 140.

With New belt

Old Clutch. It is missing the Teflon washer. I think it was missing from the factory. You can see a groove cut into the sheave.

Thank you RZR forum for all the info here. I have learned a lot here in a short time. Lots of good people here.

The only thing I don't like about my STM clutches is putting the cover on ...

So why are guys complaining about putting it on? Do you have to remove the shock or is it just a wiggle and jiggle and it goes right in. I take my cover off on a regular basis to wash and check the clutch. I can have it the stock cover off and clutch washed and back on in 15min. Will this change with the STM?

They don't want to put a cover over them because there an awesome work of art and you can't display them covered up... It's easier to install them by removing the lower shock bolt, you can install them on a XP 1000 without removing the shock...

No, it won't change with the STM...:) :) :)

Lol they look to nice to cover up ...only reason

I have about 20 miles of easy riding on them now. I have only done one WOT run and it pulled hard to 80. The STM secondary has a small amount of engine breaking. So far I love it. I cant wait to get it back in the sand.

I couldn't see putting my money into a new stock clutch when this one has never been right. I even had a clutch kit installed. I didn't realize mine was missing parts until it as too late.

Ended up taking another washer out of cam arm. Now just has the set screw in the hole closest to the heal. 4 washers on the cam arms. Still slips with 1/8 throttle apon the initial getting moving say your in high parking in the barn not needing lots of throttle to maneuver you can smell belt and feel it shutter a bit

Josh the STM clutches are sent to you fairly close to what you'll need as far as the weights are set... You have to fine tune them but your taking heavy swing weight movements!!! It shouldn't take what your doing to be spot on...

Did you check your clutch alignment prior to installing them???

The belt shouldn't make any smell...

The shutter is either a burnt / glazed belt or an alignment issue or both...

You need to put all the weights back on the clutch as they were when you received the STM clutches and start over...

You'll need the clutch alignment tool... Sparks Racing (forum vendor) sells them and a service manual that you can download for free before you can align the clutches...

I tell everyone who buys the STM's to install a New Belt... Not a belt with low miles / hours...

Yes a used belt could also be your problem...

Make sure to wash the NEW OEM Belt with warm soapy water, scrubbing the sides with Scotch Brite pad, rinse in clear water and hang and let it air dry...

When you install the belt make sure the numbers and letters are readable (not upside down)...

I think one gram removal on conventional at a time is not too much....rpm from a roll on are were 7800 then 7900 minus a gram then 8000 now I'm 8100. All this is as directed. Now the first stage arms the video and directions say for extra grunt down low these arms help wtf. I'm not an idiot but my belt might be glazed. If I launch had the car is fine but I can't go mashing the gas everywhere I go. I'll figure it out I'm a perfectionist

No one called you or implied your a idiot!!! I'm trying to give you advice so you will be satisfied with these awesome clutches...:) :) :)

The video also states not to put weight on them until after you have the clutches set up, them then you switch the weight from the other areas to them (you don't add extra weight)
