Hi. Long time lurker, never really post much.

My 900 EPS needs a new steering rack. My mechanical skill level is probably 8 on a scale of 10. I've done the wheel bearings, suspension bushings, U-joints, and the entire CVT. This sure ain't my first rodeo. I'm positive I can do it. Not sure I want to.

I have read the factory repair manual and it makes the job seem easy. Remove the tires, tie rod ends, steering column, and rack bolts. Then I assume it just waltzes right out of the chassis.

What else is there that may have been glossed over?

The waltzing part is where I would be apprehensive.

My friends 570 needs this done as well. Looks pretty straightforward and I think the best way to go into it is to realize it is going to take longer than expected and you may have the whole machine disassembled before you are done.

Ya, that's what I want to avoid. I have too many other "projects" going on and don't want to get mired down in this. Hope someone with some real world experience will chime in with some insight.

Got it out last night. Worst part was the steering column. I wouldn't say it waltzed right out. Maybe more of a samba.
