Can the rack skip a tooth?
All of a sudden my wheel is crooked. I used my alignment bars and string, machine wouldn't drive straight when the wheel is straight.
I put the machine on the car alignment rack at work. We set the tow to 1/4 in, set the wheel with the alignment machine. and it's still doesn't drive straight, when the wheel is straight. Hold wheel straight, the machine goes right.
Nothing looks bent from the weekend ride. I smacked my front bumper on a rock down low, but it took the hit.
I didn't notice the crooked wheel until today. Every not and then around a turn on the road I get a pop while turning.
Ball joints, bushings are perfectly fine. Shocks, and a arm bolts are tight. Tie rods are fine. All the heims are new. Nothing is OEM, except the rack. This is out of the blue.
The knuckle on the steering shaft looks good.
I'm stumped. What I don't know much about is the rack itself. Turns normal, no noise. No rough spots. No slop up down. It only has its normal play left and right.

Yes sir. Did that with alignment bars, string and tape measure, then took it to work and used the car alignment machine. Did that twice. The machine says it's straight. I need to add a half degree camber to the driver side front.
But when I drive, when the wheel is straight, it drives to the right.
The only other change I made was I had to add 1/4" pre load to my front shocks. Routine adjustment for wear, and I recently added more cage and weight to the front. Was sitting a little low. They are Schmidty racing built fox shocks.

Otherwise I am stumped.

All tires are at 9. I have orb trailing arms. They are definitely not bent. The heims are new fk heims. I have not jumped the machine or anything like that.
The thrust angle was in the red on the passenger side, but we didn't really pay attention to that, only because I don't know what to do to change that. 2022 machine. The front knuckles are steel. The bearings are locktighted in, Polaris hd. I just inspected all 4, and greased them.

The inner ball and socket is M16 on the inner and 3/4" on the outer. I don't remember the specs on the Pro XP if the stock rack uses M16 inner ball and sockets or not.

The tie rod kit that's included with the rack is overkill for most. The tie rod itself has a lifetime warranty. You'll never bend the steel bar option...if you do you'd have waaaay bigger problems. Lol!

BTW...its on sale right now @Jjdh đź’Ş ;)
