Stalling, misfiring, etc

My daughters 170 starter stalling and not wanting to restart. When it does start is will only stay running for a short period of time. Sometimes it will let you push the gas pedal full throttle, other times it will not and will just stall. When cruising it will then start back firing, loose power and then stall. The run fine for a bit and do it all over again.

CDI or fuel pump?

Change your fuel pump and see if that helps , use the Amazon link to get a direct bolt on Mikuni fuel pump , It will take 5 minutes to change.

No luck. Installed a new fuel pump, and it still does the same thing. Will idle sometimes, but when you hit the gas it dies. Then it will idle just fine and I can hit the throttle without issue. I pulled the stock carb and cleaned it out, still the same thing. Any suggestions or thoughts?

I have a big bore kit, large valve head that has been ported, 30mm Mukuni and larger cam, but am hesitant to switch it all over with this current issue.
