stability question

I was riding in a friends arctic cat wildcat this weekend in WV and we were talking. I have been planing on getting a 570LE and he was concerned over there "tippiness". Now I realize a 50" machine will not be as stable as a 64" machine. So here is my question. On off camber situations or perhaps like dropping into something where the passenger side drops first how tippy do you feel. Second question would some wheel spacers help with this issue (if there is one) and if so how wide would you space it where 50" was not an issue.

I haven't had too many "tippy" situations that scared me any. And I have a 2 inch lift.
There are a couple of "S" kits for the 570 to make it wider/more stable. Spacers seem to create problems with rubbing. Another option is wheels with different offset to make the track wider.

I have a 2 inch lift on mine and can banzaii corners just as well as without. I do have RT springs which helps cornering but never have I felt like I was going to tip over on fast cornering even with stock springs. Believe me I aint no slouch and I will test a machine to it's limit but I have found the stock 570 to be very stable at high speed cornering. You just have to learn how to drive them. In my opinion. any one who tips them over, are being stupid with them, or just don't know how to drive them!

I'll co-sign on Rokitman's comments.

Ours has been kept stock at 50" width. I've never felt it wanted to just hurl itself on it's side despite this quote from a friend:

...people I ride with say I ride really fast...and you guys keep up with me...maybe if we slowed down a bit we wouldn't have to stop and wait so often...
We did add a RacerTech 2" lift and springs. This didn't make it any more tip-happy.

The only thing that made it feel more likely to roll was removing the front sway bar. This made it definitely softer in roll stability when decelerating hard and turning at the same time. I'll grant you this is an advanced mod, and providing you know how to drive it - corner with your feet, not your hands so much - it is stable as can be.

All the best, James

I will admit to having once or twice felt tippy when a wheel dropped into a hole and I was going too slow; if I hadn't blipped the gas instantly I would have been over on one side.

I trail ride with both sway bars unhooked, have a 2" lift kit, 2" wheel spacers all the way around, added heavier springs, 9x26 front tires, 11x26" tires on the rear and have never tipped. Come close to tipping a couple of times but if you know how to drive a 570, you can prevent it from tipping over.

Did you do the 3'' kit or 5'' kit? The 3'' kit is supposed to add 3'' width on each side so I'm assuming the 5" kit adds 5" to each side. Is this correct?

i second that......i am 3" longer in wheel base and i am at 64" wide right now with 5+, offset wheels, and spacers, both sway bars disconnected, rzrs shocks....love it

yep mine is the 5" per side. I used satv rears and backwoods armors arched fronts. I also added 1" 1/8 spacers as well as sti offset wheels...all said and done i am about 64.5" right now and pretty stable without sway bars and with rzrs shocks withtheir stock springs

I tipped mine my second time out doing exactly what you describe after taking a bad line while trying not to scrape bottom. Since then I have pulled the front sway bar and added wheel spacers. It seems to have helped. Having a full skid plate so i don't have to worry about scraping the bottom helps too.
