Springs rubbing

Hey fellas. A buddy and I installed iebach springs on our machines, 2022 pro ultimates. The springs are great, the ride is perfect for our riding style. But they rub, and it's chewing up the shock bodys. We've clocked them, adjusted them, adjusted ride height, rinse and repeat, tried everything imaginable. He threw in the towel and just ordered a set of zbros springs. I'm still trying to figure this out, I hate to piss away the 800 bucks spent on the eibachs for other springs. Any ideas?

A lot of us will be interested to hear how his works out with the Zbros.

Stainless steel sleeve a option?
What's the O.d of the body below the threads and at the threads?

I was worried when I had my springs replaced but knock wood no rubbing that I can see on the front but there seems to be a little on the rears.

This is the first I've read about Eibachs rubbing, its common for Shock Therapy Springs on this Forum. I've yet to see it on mine so far!
Shock Therapy’s latest on shock body wear. Starts at 12:54 gets interesting at 16:54

I would agree with shock therapy. Any part that moves is bound to rub and wear. Some springs seem to wear more than others if the divider is out of shape or worn. It’s definitely a place to wash when cleaning your machine.

My eibachs wore the bodies. It took up to 4 clocking attempts to get them all squared up well. Once I got it, I marked the slider so I don’t have to go through it again.

[/QUOTE.
what's the trick? We've tried several times and there always ends up rubbing somewhere, even on the crossover rings
I started the pigtails 180 degrees apart at the slider and tried reclocking in 90 degree increments. I flipped the main spring “upside down” on the especially challenging corner and that helped. It was all a royal PITA and took a lot of time and patience.

I would agree there is always going to be some wear but your shock bodies shouldn’t be worn through before your shocks need to be rebuilt. I don’t know how many Zbroz kits I’ve sold and the wear is so minor it’s just a non issue with their kits (when clocked pigtail to pigtail). I’ve put about 2000 miles on Zbroz spring kits between my Turbo S and my Turbo R and the wear was not even noticeable.

They seem pretty irritated on the subject 😂.

If you’d rather not worry about it and want a dual rate kit, PM me for a forum member price on a Zbroz kit 😎

There is a difference between shock wear from the divider sliding and the spring hitting the shock body.

Stand the spring on a flat surface. If it stands more than about 10 degrees from plumb, request a defective return from the vendor.

Thanks Seth, I may just do that. My buddy couldn't wait, he ordered zbros before I even started this thread. I may look into the shock armor, or see how the zbros are on his machine. If they're a major improvement I'll be shooting you a pm..

I ordered some ZBros springs from RockPeak and I really like them. My wife had a car accident several years back and has some residual neck issues. It was hard for her to ride in our RZR for long periods of time. Since replacing the stock springs, she commented on the improved ride. While we haven't been on any long rides, she seems to like the new springs.

10° is huge. 1° is bad on a dual rate system.
Just bringing awareness. Zero is tough to achieve.
This photo is of the Zbroz kit I put on my Turbo R. Not perfect but no significant rubbing so far.

Agm sliders…. Just put them on have not made it for a test ride yet. This is the straightest my springs have looked on my machine. The sliders are three pieces top and bottom aluminum with the poly/plastic insert. I put about 1500 miles on my machine with shock therapy Springs re clocked my springs a couple times and they still tore my shock bodies up so bad I had to send them out to get repaired with shipping shock bodies labor $1200. Spending $250 to potentially prevent this worth it all day long.

I've used a belt grinder it works to get them flat. The thicker ST sliders help as well.
