I just go my 4 and want to get some more lift, but don't want to put a lift kit on it, the adjustment is halfway on the shocks, how much can I safely preload the springs, I was thinking about 2 or 3 inches, I mostly ride trails with my family and just need the extra clearance. thanks, Chris

IIRC the manual says how far you can adjust them..but most times that is overkill on the side of safety.
You just have to make sure that you don't adjust them enough to get coil bind before.
I turned mine up some and I swear the rears just keep settling. I've probably went up an 1/2-3/4" or so at the spring in the rear and the ride height is about the same as when it was new..
Front is fine..the rear just keeps settling..
