Starting to get a little pissed. I have a 2021 that I picked up two weeks ago. On the first ride it did fine, but the next day when I turned it on the EPS and Maintenance light was on. I called the dealer and they said to drive it in low and the lights would go off. It worked but makIng the lights go off isn’t my issue, my issue is why are they coming on. It has 37 miles on it now. This weekend the lights came back on after the ride and now the speedometer has stopped working. The lights never came on during the ride it was after. The speedometer was working during the ride now it’s not. Has anyone else had this issue? Help me out. This is my first razor. I had a Teryx was before this

Not sure if it is the same problem... Obviously you are having some sort of electrical issue. My entire display went out with just a few hours on it. It would first do it intermittently. I took dash apart and checked the connections on the back.

It was surely agravating with a new machine. I was extrememly frustrated. I cooled off and after said and done, call polaris and complain. You will find they will take care of you with a bonus.

I figured they just had a bad few get out. Dealer finally replaced cluster. I am over it now and love my RZR.

Thanks man. I have had the lights come on but when I called they said to put it in low and the lights would go off. It worked but as soon as I washed it by hand and not a pressure washer, the lights came back on. I made sure no water got in the snorkel. The lights went off then came back on. While we were riding, nothing was out of the ordinary. Speedometer was working fine and no lights. When I drove it off the trailer it didn’t work. Just frustrating to spend that kind of money and have it not work.

84 / 2 is definitely the speed sensor so I would start there easy fix. Lots of time the little tab on the plug breaks of and it doesn't stay connected. Pull the sensor and verify it is clean and it is connected well

The 520231 code I believe is just from leaving the key in the on position for to long without starting the vehicle .
I would stay focused on the Speed sensor

Thank you. I’ll try that and put a little dialectic grease in it

So.... I cleaned all the connections to the speed sensor and added dielectric grease. I also took the speed sensor out, coated it with grease and it cleared the lights. Not saying they won’t come back on. I’m expecting it to do it again on the next ride. I am on the waiting list to have it go back to the dealer. I paid for the warranty so let them deal with it.

i have a 2021 rzr trail ultimate got it in march and only have 80 miles on it and i have got the same issue twice. error code 2 84 1 engine and power steering lights on. no speed read out on dash or ride command screen. the first time it happened i had driven it 6 days ago and went to go for another ride and got the engine and power steering light. let it set for hour and a half started it up and no issues. took a ride today, came back washed it and when i went to start it up again got the same issue. Guess its a call to dealer and have them replace the speed sensor. (They said its happened on several other rzr's also had to replace the speed sensors. not very happy, spend big money and it already has something broke. oh well

The same issue with mine, it's 3 days old 2021 the dealer replaced the speed sensor and that did not fix it. I will keep you posted. I truly wish I could just return this, my buddy bought a Honda Talon 1000R, and it's amazing. Way better built in every way.

Leaves a really shitty taste in my mouth after spending a boatload on a machine and it's in the shop week one.

Not to hijack this thread, but if anyone is forced to replace their dash unit and/or has a left over and useless dash unit, please let me know. Im looking to buy the acrylic cover off of one as mine is experiencing some sort of cracking or crazing (aquarium term for hairline cracks) and I don't want to buy a whole new $300 dash unit to just replace the lens. Will be glad to buy it and pay for shipping. This is what mine currently looks like, its not obstructing my view of the console, but its pretty annoying to look at it.

Mine did the same the first week I bought it. Then went away brought it in for my first 50 hr maintenance they told me it’s the belt which I replaced $$$$ they cleared the codes.
well my first ride out after that same issue m tachometer reaches 4 rpm before the speed comes on anywhere between 12 n 17 my steering is also very stiff compared to my previous bike. I’m waiting till next oil change to get it looked at but will contact Polaris to see what they say.

I have the the same issue. I purchased a new Rzr 1000 highlifter edition September 1st. On my very fist drive engine light comes on and power steering light and speedometer stops working. In the attached pic I'm actually moving about 25kmph View attachment 680330
They finally fixed mine they said faulty brake sensor switches 5 rides with no issues also check your ground behind the driver seat by the motor
Had mine in the shop twice second time when they called Polaris they did no trouble shooting Polaris said to replace the break switch. Been out 3 times now, in mud and water. Washed when I got home and still no light. So break switch must have been bad. Make sure you call customer support and get it noted that you have had multiple issues so they can log it. If you do that supposedly you will be covered if it happens again after the warranty expires. Time will tell on that though
I bought the 5 year warranty hopefully it's fixed for good

RS1's are not turbo! Going to cancel my order. Really wanted single seaters
I have 2021 high lifter it didn’t even have 25 km on it and I’m having a engine light and power steering light on. went back to the dealer and they put a new speed sensor in and get home and same thing still! Now they are saying it’s the brake light switch!! So now waiting and see if this does it !!

Just had this same thing happen to mine last week. 2021 XP 1000 Sport, less than 6 months old with under 50 miles on it. Rode for a couple hours and stopped for lunch. Got back in 15 minutes later and speedo stopped working and Service Engine & EPS lights came on. Still had plenty of power but the lights worried me, so I put it on the trailer and made an appointment at the dealer asap. They thought it was a speed sensor but replacing it didn't fix anything. They next suspected the wiring harness but wanted to call Polaris first before tearing into it. Turns out it was just the brake switch and now she is running good as new. I will update this if I run into any issues.
