Anybody else see this thing from Robby Gordon's shop? Supposed to be formally revealed this weekend at the SSS, but been hinting around on social media about it...

300hp 1400cc Turbo
72" wide
Huge travel
2 seat @ 105" wb, 4 seat @116" wb
Legit tube cage & chassis
32's or 35's standard
They've hinted at quite a few other spec too
My favorite is the front shock is mounted to the lower A-arm, like it should be.

$28-32K.... that's the big shocker to me... no bells & whistles / creature comforts to jack the price ski high

can only build 500/ year since it's over 1000cc and still to be considered an OHV....

Supposedly Textron will continue use of the Arctic line in terms of existing models and that marketability and quantity, Tracker is just the Bass Pro special version.... but these specific machines are almost entirely a RG/Speed build independently (obviously with the partnership, there will still be some similarities)

I could really break some $hit fast with 300hp ?
If it is anything like the xx cats in our group you dont need 300 hp ...they break with 110 hp just as easy.

4.... xx cats in our group and here is what I have seen break so far

All 4 have broke the front sway bar link on the driver side
3 have had front CV boots tear in the first or second ride ...in the sand no sticks
1 has had a transmission grenade
2 have had low oil pressure engine light and limp mode ..even after bringing it back to the dealer multiple times ...this is a very common problem
2 have had the steering racks break
There is probably more but this is just what I can remember. All of these XX rigs have less than 400 miles on them.

None the less ...I hope the Gordon rig uses is different / better?

The Textron Wildcat XX uses a variation of the 3-cylinder Yamaha engine found in the YXZ mated to an all-new CVT system developed in conjunction with Team Industries. A different cam, intake manifold, and throttle body system bumps the Wildcat’s power output to 125 horsepower in naturally aspirated trim. Later on, Textron will offer a factory turbocharged version of this same engine, rumored to produce well over 200 horsepower. The factory Yamaha turbo sled motor this engine is based on is rated at 210 horsepower.

This is not that engine, nor that sxs. This is a 1400cc 2 cylinder, completely new production chassis from Speed

Guess we will have to check it out while we are down there..... If it is a Weber motor they are no joke. Textron is a huge corporation with many companies under their umbrella. Ready... one of them is Weber. Think they actually contemplated using a Weber in the XX, but went the Yamaha route instead, makes you wonder...

I just talked with Tod Romano at Speed sxs..Gordon's main man. He said the car with the 225 hp motor will be available in late fall. If you want the 1400 cc turbo it is a kit and it will cost about 3 k more it comes with pistons jugs and tuner / new flash ...this kit wont be available until late 2020 or 2021

He also said the car does not accept any Wildcat xx parts everything is new. The trans is a cvt and you can shift from low to high on the fly..The motor is their own he would not say who makes it

Pretty impressive and they answered my call while at the sand show!

I’m very impressed he answered your call, and damn, you are on top of things! Lol

I’m also impressed it’s only a 3k option... but I wonder what the whole “Speed Accessory Package” they mention will run? Because you’d have to get all that from them ( skids, windshield, etc ) since there will be no aftermarket... outside of building your own stuff of course. Call it $40k time you get out the door? Pretty damn well equipped tho, and 300hp to boot.... also get a 77” wide one if you want too

It would take many years of growth for Polaris or Can Am to even see it on the radar... but I’m not saying that’s not possible.... but to me, that thing is pure performance driven, can save ALOT of $ not going to luxury route, so you can keep the cost in the realistic range.

Maybe I’ll just call and put my $1k down now.... I’ll probably be ready for a new one by 2021 :grin
