Hey guys, I have been out of the stereo scene for some time. I am putting in a system in my new RZR. I was wondering what speaker is good to use. In the past, I really liked the Polk Audio DB651. They sound really good. I also have heard good things about the MTX and Kicker speakers. What are your thoughts??

I want to do the pods and tower speakers. Yes I will be doing an amp as well.

Thanks for the advice and help. I think I know the route that I want to take. I will post pictures when I have it all installed and working. Thanks again. Now I just need to decide if I want a sub or not.

And that is the reason, I do not want a sub. I might skip it for now. I just want music when we stop for a beer break. I really do not listen to it when I am driving. I rather listen to the motor while I am driving. After racing go Karts and Street bikes, the engine sound, while driving, is my music.

Thank you for your replies. I have another question. What is everyone using for Speaker Pods. I do not want any Huge pods in the back. They work great for my boat, but not for the RZR. Hard to tell the size from pictures. I think the SSV Works Pods look pretty nice. What is everyone's thoughts?? I also found these. I am waiting for a response from the seller on the dimensions of the pod.

I've been eyeballing the WetSounds Stealth 10HD for a while now. I understand the bass is extremely lacking, but I figure it's going to be like that for any speaker you buy without some sort of woofer. I like the clean look. Perusing thru some of the older posts on this subject, many guys were having a hard time finding a mount that allows the speaker to sit flush with the rear roll cage, with a roof on it, and facing forward not down. What are people using to mount this bar with? I'm looking for a super clean look in everything I do to my XPT. I figure I can always add the SSVWORKS sub in the glove box later on. I like plug and play type of installs.

Any advice?

Thanks

I have the Rockford Fosgate Stage 4 and am really happy with it. I live in Henderson if you want to stop by and check it out. Depending on how elaborate you are looking to go, you really should try to listen before you buy. That's what I did last year at the SSSS and how I ended up with this setup.

Since this thread is about speakers, I wold just like to add that before you purchase any speakers, learn about the different specifications and what they mean.
Researching and reading about the specifications can help in deciding what wattage requirement you need for a particular amp and how the speaker will sound before you buy.
It will also tell you lots about the quality of sound that the speakers will putout.

I just finished installing my stereo in my 16 XP41K. We originally had the Wetsounds Stealth10 and it had zero bass and just didn't cut it.

I actually went with all Polk Audio speakers in the new build and after some tuning they sound fantastic. Below is my setup:

Front:
SSV Works kickpanel pods
6.5" Polk Audio DB651 marine speakers

Rear:
SSV Works 10" back wall sub box (mounts in the engine bay and fires through the access cover)
Polk Audio 1040DVC marine subwoofer

Amp - MBQuart 710.5 marine amp (mounted behind the speedo)

Power Acoustik 7 band parametric EQ (mounted in the center cubby)

NVX Bluetooth adapter

I used a 4 ga marine amp wiring kit and also added a 4 ga run of welding wire to bring power to the front buss bar. From there the stereo switch, BT adapter, and EQ draw their power from the buss bar. The amp draws its power from the battery. All is controlled by their remote wires to the stereo toggle switch on the dash.

The sound is fantastic to say the least. It's very clear with good solid bass. It actually sounds even better the further away that you get. Total cost was around $850, but well worth every penny of it.
