Got this one from racertech. Seems solid. Doesn't obstruct the rear view.
Thats MY biggest consern too.

I have the read down bars and a welder. (I AM a welder) so I am going to make up a "holder" that sits higher but only JUST over the roof line with the very top/highest side of the tire. So Mostly behind and a bit over the roof line and above the rear line of site.

This is my thinking:

I haven't built yet, but I have acquired the needed parts and clamps.

A design that I have yet to see implemented is one that would use the stock 1.25" receiver...or a 2" receiver (for aftermarket). The design would be similar to one of those bicycle carriers you see almost everywhere on the back of SUV's. In fact, perhaps a bicycle carrier could be mod'ed to be a carrier. In addition to holding a spare, it could also hold a HiLift (or other) jack and even a gas can. However, weight could be an issue.

Anyway, the following link shows the kind of bicycle carrier that I am referring to. I think the "tongue" on this model is too short for a RZR but I get the impression there are lots of crafty people on this forum...

My alternative to carrying a spare tire and wheel is using bead lock wheels and just carrying a spare tube. You can open the wheel and install a tube pretty easily out on the trail. I've done it without even taking the wheel off, just jack it up.

Depending on how bad you wreck the tire or wheel I guess, this solution may have it's limitations.
But it's gotten me home and have actually ridden the rest of the day on a tube.

I rode about 6 miles last night with a 3 inch gash in the tire through some very rough terrain. Tube held up fine.

Hmmm, now my ? Is at the rear. Pretty sure my 900 doesn't have those cut outs in the bed. Maybe, they simply mount into the plunge holes on the back bed & it will work?

We haven't been able to try on the 900s but we may have one coming this week and we can take a look

On the 900s u have two screws that hold the cargo bed on that measures 10-3/8" bolt center to bolt center and two other spaced further out at 21-1/2" if this helps any.

I'm going to venture a guess and say that the shock locations on the tire mount will be an issue. One finding a tie in point for them and secondly most of the cargo boxes on the 900's extend to the outer edges of the box which means a greater width. This extra width will result in the shocks hitting the cargo boxes.

I bought the UTV Giant rear mount carrier. Should be here this week. There is also the EMP spare tire carrier, but it seems that the tire hangs too low with that mount.

I considered that and it may end up being my only option. I don't want something that will hang off the back end and I don't want something blocking my vision out of the rear window. So, the flip up assault is exactly what I want but I doubt it will work.
