So I have done much reading including the great how to on here.

I just not sure how loud this mod makes the machine?

I have not been around one that is snorkeled so I just not sure if I want to donit or not.

Looking for some feedback from some that rode with no snorkel then added tin what's your thoughts?

Take it to the top of the cage and there will be no difference in the noise level. I have one snorkeled that way and one not and I never noticed a difference.

I originally had the snorkels on my first rzr right above the cross bar behind the seats...and that CVT exhaust was loud as heck. The CVT intake and engine intake weren't the issue, just the cvt exhaust.

I ended up adding a few feet to the snorkels and going to the top of the cage like the guys above mentioned, and that solved the issue. It was still a little noisier than stock, but I solved that by adding a rear windshield...

Those were UNI foam filters with Outerwears pre-filters on them...give me a few minutes to do some digging and I will try and find the part numbers.

*edit*

Here are the part numbers from www.rockymountainatv.com

Outerwears Pre Filter For - RU0360, RU0610, RD0710, UP5229, UP5245 Part # 1092910001

Uni Air Filter - POD Clamp On 2 1/4" I.D. x 5" L UP-5229 Part # 1068890005

I was wondering if there was a way to add/fab one of these bad boys... It's a central vac muffler...

Is it worth the effort and would it actually cut the noise from the cvt exhaust...may have to try it.

I'm not sure if I would add something like that to mine...

The last thing you want to do is add any resistance to the CVT exhaust, that thing needs to flow a LOT of air to keep the belt cool. I know of a few people who have destroyed their belts by adding a filter or some type of cap to the CVT exhaust. Your best bet is just to deal with the noise, extend it up to the top of the cage, or just leave it stock.

I'm not so sure how much resistance would be present. I would fab a muffler out of 3" abs with 3" to 2" reducers...as my snorkels are 2" now. It would be a straight through shot. I would use 1" foam inside the canister...leaving the 2" center to flow the same.

Langford is correct on the above posts.. Most noise is coming from the CVT.. The good thing is that the snorkel is freeing up more airflow to the CVT & keeping the belt cooler.. I didn't want to spoil what I will be posting in the future, But I purchased a Bilge Blower that attaches into the intake of the CVT snorkel (or exhaust it doesn't matter) & I can move 75-85 CFM or air through the CVT on 12v.. I will be measuring the stock air flow shortly, adding it to video & posting it. It is a huge difference & for those who run Hot or in the south/desert it can save belts!

I have ArticThunderKustoms snorkels with removeable prefilters on both of my 2010 rzrs & like them alot! & they are to the roof also & no power loss or extra noise. I do have a friend that i ride with that also has a snorkel on his rzrs & it is just over the bar between the seats & it dose make a little noise

i ran mine right between the seats, they are just above the center bar, then put a 90 on them, and put a back glass on mine, and used a hole saw, and put a nipple on the 90's and ran it through the glass, then siliconed them, what langford did would work great for some, but i do alot of woods riding, and would end up catching them at some point in time.
