Shocks

I have been, and will continue to, look through current posts.

But...I have been off the board for awhile. When i was on here last, Bandit shocks seemed to be the recommended shocks to upgrade the 570 for trail riding. Last couple times I looked at their website, they were out of stock. Are they still around? Are they still the recommended upgrade to stock shocks for just touring trails, etc?

I also seem to remember them having options...like you would put in how much you weigh, your riding conditions, gear you haul, and it would recommend shocks that would fit you. I don't see this option. Am I think of another shock? Did they stop doing this? Was this just spring options? Or?

TIA,
Sean

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I'm ready to pull the trigger on new shocks. I was going to order Bandits till i saw they were out of stock. I sent them an email a couple days ago asking when 570 shocks with be back in stock. No reply yet as I'm sure they got a bunch of emails over the holidays. I'm also looking into Exit shocks, but i read a couple posts that they are not that plush at slower speeds.

Exit can set the shocks up however you want them when you order them. Just let them know what kind of riding you do and what your after and I am sure they can work with you.

If I can't get the bandit shocks Exit will be my next call. I don't ride in the cold so I can wait for now but I will only wait so long and then just move on.

There going to lose business if they can't start getting parts in soon I know other people that are waiting as well.

I emailed Bandit in mid august for the shocks. I was told 2 to 3 weeks, keep checking and finally was able to buy them at end of September early October. They were only on website as available for less than hour. I really wish Bandit had some sort of waiting list. The way they are running it, you have to check the website several times a day. I will say this the new aftermarket shocks, have been by far the best upgrade I've done to my 570-- Ride is 10 times better, was able to disconnect front sway bar and not feel tipsy and reclaimed lost ground clearance since the stock springs had been sagging immediately after buying the 570 last summer

After 2 emails still no reply from Bandit. I'm really disappointed with them not replying after hearing great things about there products. I didn't see a phone # to call on there page. I ended up being contacted by a fellow RZR forum member ( TheCornProphet) who was selling a set of Bandits with very low miles. I cant wait to get them mounted.

I started reaching out to Bandit a few months ago. They refused to take names for a waiting list and requested I check back in 2-3 weeks. Every 2-3 weeks, they would tell me to check back in 2-3 weeks. I gave up on them and ordered a set of exit shocks. They just responded on Facebook that they should have a bunch of stock in the next couple of days but I suspect they’ll sell out quickly.

I am going to use the second post on this thread as a general guide for setup and adjust from there.

They have the trail shocks listed and available now. No idea why they removed them as "unavailable" when they were updating the site. It made it appear they were no longer going to offer them.

No big problem with used ones, but when you order shocks from bandit, they ask you how your UTV is set up, and what kind of weight you'll be carrying. This would infer that they are customizing the shocks to you and your vehicle...so used shocks would be customized for the vehicle that they were originally ordered for. I am sure they are still worlds better than stock.

Your gunna love them. I believe there just looking for what spring rate you should be running. Alot of cargo or none, sway bars connected or not. Not custom valves. On the trail series your only adjustment is preload. On the piggyback series you can adjust compression. They leave it up to the rider to fine tune there ride.

Really not sure what all they do...but in RC cars, you can adjust the ride your shocks provide with different viscosity oil, pistons with different size ports in them, and different strengths of springs. I kinda figured they were doing the same to customize the Bandit shocks to your machine and ride styles when you order.

You will love the trail series bandits- was without a doubt single best upgrade I've made in my 570. Before I got the Bandits I was getting beat up bad ( bounced all over) on long rocky trails. I tried disconnecting front sway bar- didnt enjoy feeling at all, kept feeling like I would roll over in turn- way too much "body" roll. And yeah I know I probably could have got used to it, and doubt I would have actually rolled, but didnt like the feeling. After installing bandits, no sense of body roll at all in corners, so I had no problem disconnecting my front sway bar. I regained all my lost ground clearance. Even though my machine was new, stocks springs had been sagging almost on a weekly basis. Over 1st two months of owning machine I lost 1.25 inches of ground clearance due to sagging. I currently have almost 12 inches of ground clearance with 26 inch tires and no lift at all. I can ride rocky trails without getting the shit beat out of me. In short by far the trail series bandits the best upgrade I've done on my 570. They are expensive no doubt, I was able to sell my stock shocks for 200 bucks somewhat off setting the cost- but the investment was well worth it in my book

I wish a rep from Bandit would tune-in. We all know they had no problem finding Katnappers post lol. I believe when it comes to mass production they would keep the internals the same. I could be wrong. I'm very familiar with RC shocks raced for 10 years. Spent a lot of money turning those shocks in lol. And some think owning a SXS is a money pit
