I went for a ride this weekend with my stock tires (and a big passenger) and I pushed it pretty hard. Lots of high speed trail riding and a few small jumps. When I got home I noticed a funny smell and had fluid on my trailer and my rear passenger side shock was wet. It appears to be leaking around the top of the shock body. The cap feels tight.

Is this something an average backyard mechanic can fix or are there special tools and magic spells one needs to know? I have a big ride this weekend (mud ride) so if they have to be sent off it will have to be done next week after I get back.
