Looking to find some folks interested in going to Sand Hollow. My wife and I live in East Tennessee. It would be nice to find others in the general area interested in making the trip. Maybe find someone that has a car hauler or teaming up and hiring one. we have an enclosed trailer just open to options. would be nice to meeting up with people who are local to or at least familiar with Sand Hollow. We don’t have a particular time in mind yet. Figured I would throw the idea at the wall and see if it stuck. I figured at least two days drive each way and spend a week out there.

My brother and I are planning a trip to Sand Hollow sometime this year. We live in southern middle TN. We have been trying to come up with a way to haul the rzr's the cheapest way we can..
We got hooked from watching all the youtube video's on Sand Hollow.. lol

We are headed to SH the end of May for a week and then to Moab. We take our TH and I take 3 days to drive it as it's 2700 miles from NC. It takes a bit of planing since it's such a long journey. We've done the same route many times on the way out and stay at the same campgrounds each trip. We take I-40 90% of the way out there and usually take our time coming back to go site seeing. We make it an epic trip taking up to 2 months at a time. We will be going back in Sept for Trail Hero and staying through UTV Takeover. I'm taking both the Ultra4 buggy and the RZR and we will be in SH for about a month.

Sand Hollow is an epic adventure and if you can make it happen do it.

Unfortunately, we are not retired Joe. I’m assuming you are with that big of a time availability out there. The longest I can come up with is two weeks. That’s why I’m trying to figure out a way that I can make the drive doable. maybe team up with somebody. One couple drives the rig out and the other flies out then the first couple flies back and the other drives the rig back. But that’s a lot of figuring out and trust involved.

Not retired but I do own the company. I'm fortunate to have great employees who take care of business which allows me to go on these adventures.

We have friends that usually go with us sometimes. We take our TH and meet up to load the machines on a trailer. They trailer the rigs and stay with us on the trip out and while we are there.

I thought about putting it in one of those Pods and having it shipped out ahead of time, then flying out and renting a car and then when we’re done having it shipped back. First problem with that is once you’re out there. You have to rent a truck and open trailer and that gets expensive. Penske box truck would be cheaper than truck and trailer. But after calling in to pods, I realize that would be chump change compared to the $9000 that they want to ship one pod out and back within a one month time period.
yep, that’s correct those lunatics want $9000 for that big white crate for one month and out and back shipping

While we are on the subject. Can I ask what kind of mileage you get?
Truck?
truck & toyhauler?
truck toyhauler & toyhauler?
I figured $2200 for me truck and enclosed trailer @8.5 mpg. But it’s ONLY 2200 miles each way for me. 6.2L gas.

There are several shops near there who you may be able to coordinate with for some type of transport. I think it would cost more than hauling it yourself and staying at the resort across the street. Plus. I personally don’t like placing trust in stuff like shipping if at all avoidable. Unless you have some sort of bulletproof insurance.

On a side note. My family was just there, and I was there almost exactly a year ago. Comparing pics….and it’s crazy how beat up it’s gotten in a year. YouTube has caused some serious traffic along with the events.

Yeah, pretty sure a lot of that damage was also caused by storms and flooding. There are videos talking about how some areas it washed out 3 & 4 feet of sand making the trails much harder.

Ya could be. Top of the world tree is leaning hard and the metal supports are all jacked up. I assume from the addition of 20+ signs.
